    Slipping

You're not slipping- you're normal. It's a major change! I'm 12 weeks out and just recently started on hard boiled eggs. I could only do scrambled or over easy. I still have difficulties with white chicken. Get yourself cheese sticks, Nuts, seasoned soy nuts, at about 6weeks I wanted sandwiches- so I did my usual only in a lettuce wrap. Chili and soups became my friend. Lentil soup, split pea, chicken broth with veggies. My challenge was meeting the protein in-take, so I purchase herbal life fruit punch protein drink (14-15grams), mix with water and ice, once a day it was filling and triggered weight loss as I was meeting my protein in-take. Best of luck!

    Fat?

My Nut advise was not to eat anything that the fat was greater than the calories. So to start she said Fat should be 1/2 of the calories or less.

    4 month dr. Appt tomorrow

Although your doctor said not to eat unless you are hungry - don't forget to meet your protein requirements! Keep it up - you're doing great!

    2 months post-op constipated

Benefiber- is tasteless! If you eat bacon - try having an egg and a strip of bacon - always works for me! Best of luck!
  7. Absolutely chicken - if you are having any issues with food still - my doctor told me dark chicken is easier to process.
  8. Ask your nutritionist - they usually have samples.

    Help!

I'm 9 day post sleeve and I started with the basic broths, today I made a pot of lentil soup with carrots/celery and ham. The ham is a bit hard to process - but the soup came out amazing. Split pea soup. Many soup options, chili, meatballs.

  14. My post-op diet was liquid first week / purée for the second. Follow your gut if you are ready follow the next step of your diet. Just be careful - I'm allowed cheese and I ate it fast - and the pain was unbearable! Best of luck!

    Post-Op Pain

Just be on the look out for a fever, even a low grade fever - if you develop one you need to see your Dr. As long as you don't have a fever, you get relief day by day! Best of luck!

    Exhausted : sleeved 5/17

Are you getting enough protein? Call your nutritionist. I got sleeved last week 5/13 - first couple of days after a 20min walk I would nap. But lately my resistance is growing and not napping as much.
  18. Had sleeve surgery on 5/13 and I did not have a sore throat and was able to speak. I woke up in pain but it was gas pain in my chest and shoulders. I was able to administer my own pain med so I immediately did and feel asleep. Best advice I can give you is walk as soon as you can. I walked 3hr after surgery to go to the bathroom. As far as eating after surgery- I'm on premier protein shakes, broth (warmth feels amazing), sugar free jello and sugar free pudding. Once home I was hacking up mucus - not much but apparently normal which I was not aware of - so just sharing just incase the same happens and you don't get concern as I did. Best of luck!
  19. You made the first step - acknowledging you need help and reaching out in this forum! It seems your gut feeling to go to a support group is the right step. I agree with all of the above comments. Stay strong and keep us updated! You can do this!!!
  20. Try premier protein shakes. Pre-made and ready to drink. Try warm broth. Warmth may help!
  21. I was sleeved Friday, 5/13 - and all is going well so far. Surgery was schedule for 1pm which I thought was torture to be fasting from midnight. I did arrive at the hospital with a headache which was relieved once I had an IV in me. Surgery was 1 1/2. Waking up was painful and thank God for pain killer. My shoulder/ chest is where I felt the most pain - crazy how the gas travels in the body. By 6pm I made my first trip to the bathroom. Urinating took forever - due to the anesthesia. But overall ok! I was using the bathroom every 2-3hrs. And the walk to the bathroom alleviated some of the gas pain. The following day I took the liquid test which was disgusting and you sipped via a straw which does not help the gas. But I passed. I was discharged by 2pm. Best experience in the hospital were the nurses! They were amazing! Once home I was on my pain medicine every 4 hrs. 2 day home only used the pain medicine twice. Each day I'm feeling better!
  22. Talk to the surgical coordinator, my insurance approval was valid for 6mths - as long as I continued the monthly weigh in. Good luck! I'm scheduled to be sleeved tomorrow 5/13!
  23. Surgery scheduled for 5/13!!!
