Aloha my name is NIKKI! I live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I am here to offer support. I am anti-bullying, please if you dont have anything nice to say please dont say it. I have really struggled with my band for 8 years, I had the band placed on November 5th 2008, weighing 173 in Tijuana Mexico (I know) and had it removed October 2015, weighing 145, in Honolulu Hawaii. The band was originally placed too tight-- I have tried multiple fills and unfills over the years and STILL no relief. Food gets stuck regularly. I just dealt with it- I had a LOVE/HATE relationship with the band. I was happy I was 40 lbs lighter. However during my pregnancy was the worst- I could hardly get liquids down some days it was EXTREMELY tight, due to pregnancy. So I had an upper GI- showing a swollen esophugus, and the band- TOO TIGHT. So I thought maybe after I delivered the baby ( she was healthy at 6.12 lbs) maybe the swelling would go down- I really DIDNT want to have it removed. I waited and waited and still no relief. (after 6 months) I decided to have it removed. Now - I had the lap band removed 3.5 weeks ago (October 2015) and still can not eat or drink liquids -barely! I am throwing up 6 times a day. I am physically emotionally drained and stressed out of my mind. I just thought that after having it removed it would go back to normal. boy was I wrong- Dr. ordered an endoscopy ( they go in with a balloon and blow youre stomache back up to the original shape) Please message me if you have any advice or have any questions for me - I am more than happy to help :)
