Hi All
I am a new member but I have been looking at the site for a few months. I started my journey last Spring after a lifetime of struggling with my weight. As my weight climbs, other health issues continue to pop up. I want to live a long healthy life with my family so I am doing this to allow me to accomplish this. After researching and a lot of thinking, I began this journey on 7/1 aiming for surgery in March 2016. I had completed just about all requirements when I found out 1 month ago that my employer is switching insurances from Anthem Blue cross to Medical Mutual on 1/1. Upon researching the new policy, I found that weight loss surgery is NOT even covered. Needless to say... we have stepped things up and are hoping for 12/17. My last primary Dr appt is 9:00 am on 12/1. My surgeon will send the approval request in that morn. I am praying for a quick reply or I am out of luck!
I found Bariatric Pal through a couple of friends who have had surgery. It is so nice to be able to share questions and concerns among others who are in the same "boat".
