  1. Happy 37th Birthday ams2436!

  2. Hi, I had lap band surgery back in April 2007 and lost 130lbs WOO HOO. But in December of last year a fill caused me grief (throwing up a lot) which led to me finding out I had a a herina and a slipped band. My dr fixed my hernia and replaced my lapband with a realize band. He warned me I may gain some weight back as I get adjusted with this new band. Well it has been 5 months and I have gained about 45lbs back. I get a fill each month, yet I'm still able to eat anything and everything. I seem to have the "last meal syndrome" each month . Assuming that the following month's fill will be the "one" when I can't eat much anymore. I have no willpower. If I did, I wouldn't have spent so much money twice to have these surgeries. Last month I got a fill that I thought was it, but in fact it was too much. I started acid reflux at night again and the dr took out .5 (of the 1 cc that I got), so now I can eat anything again. I'm just getting depressed that may this second band won't work for me. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated. If you have had a replacement, I would love to hear your story, but any response is appreciated!@
  3. Hi all! I know there are guidelines given on what to eat after surgery and I would like to know how many follow that advice? If you don't are you successful? What about a few months after the surgery, what types of food and qty are you eating? I know that the lapband will help restrict my food intake (which I truly need) so I am just curious to hear what successful banders eat. Thanks and God Bless to you all (I go for my consult tomorrow, so I am getting closer and closer to the actual surgery) YIPEE!!!!

    Lap band in Kentucky!

Hi, I am from Southern Indiana (but born in Louisville, Ky and that is where my lap band will be done at as well). Whereabouts in KY do you live? May I ask why it has taken close to a year to get all of your stuff ready for the procedure? Did you delay it, or was it your insurance, or the surgeon? I wish you the best of luck. Keep us posted on your progress. Autumn
  5. I turned my paperwork in the night of the lap band seminar and today (4 weeks later) got a call to set up my bariatric appt with the dietician, nurse, & Pshyciatrist. My appt is next week and I just wondered how soon did most people have their surgery after this step. I realize this may be totally different for each person, but it is becoming so surreal now, and I just want to get some ideas. Thanks!!!
  6. Thanks to each of you who responded! This is such a scary/life changing decision and it really does help to have insight/support from others. I am going to continue with my plans to have this procedure done and when I get scared I will reread these responses! I will continue to post to this site and let you know how it goes! Thanks again
  7. I have went to the seminar, turned in my paperwork and have read a ton of information on the lapband procedure. My heart is really into having this done, but my head keeps asking "Is it really worth it?" I read about the "stuck" feeling, throwing up, some not losing weight, slippage, chance of death, etc and it keeps making me lean towards not having the procedure done. For those of you who have had it done, please help me understand if it is really worth it or not? Thanks and good luck to each of you!!!:help:
