  1. Hello I'm getting weight loss surgery in December and I will have to fly to get to my surgeon. I haven't flown for a long time since I was a lot smaller. I'm am so nervous of getting on the plane and I won't fit. My question to you guys, is what is your experience flying? I'm 5'7" 370 lbs. about 56 inch waist and hip. Did anyone have to buy an extra seat? Need a seatbelt extender? My mom is paying for my flight as well as hers and I will feel so horrible if she would have to buy an extra plane seat....

    Too big to fly?

Hey guys! Just to help everyone out! I only needed an extender for one of the connecting flights. I didn't carry a lot of weight in my hips so that helped out a lot. It has been quite the ride since surgery and I'm down 157 pounds since surgery and feel amazing! Best decision I've ever made in my life! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  4. Hello my name is Dylan. I am 22. I am 5'7" and weigh 360 lbs. I am having surgery in Mexico as my insurance won't cover it here in the states. I am going through a company called BeLiteWeight , my surgeon is Dr. Jose Rodriguez. I was just wondering if anyone has went through beliteweight or is scheduled to have their surgery with them. My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 28th. I'm so excited

    Too big to fly?

Hey guys thought I'd check back in. It's been awhile. Had my surgery December 28th in Mexico. I ended up flying economy with mom in the seat next to me. We were able to raise the arm rest between us and were comfortable. Didn't need an extender on the way there but needed one on the rest of the flights. Surgery in Mexico was a bit nerve wrecking but it was all very professional and has completely changed my mind on surgeries in Mexico. I'm already down 60 pounds as of today since December 7th. Very happy with my decision. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal
  6. Hello, This is my first post on here. Ive been reading everyone's journeys as I prepared to embark on my own. I am 22, male, 370 pounds. I am getting surgery done in December on the 28th in Mexico. Very nervous, but excited to start getting healthy. I plan on making video logs and posting them on YouTube as I progress through my journey. I've always been overweight and I'm tired of standing on the side lines watching my friends and family live life. It's my turn. I record music as a hobby and would love to make music and preform someday. I'm hoping to find some friends on here to form a support group.

Hey thanks for the reply. On the way back we would be stopping every few hours song could walk around. Also my surgery is in Juarez with Dr. Jose Rodriguez. They are picking us up from the Airport in El Paso Texas

    Too big to fly?

So my mom and I are thinking about driving instead of flying to avoid having to pay for an extra seat. My surgery is in Mexico so we would be driving from Ohio to Texas. Anyone think this would be a good alternative? It would be almost a 24 hour trip. Would you think it would be more comfortable driving as opposed to flying? My mom would be driving home of course
  12. Hey that's good to hear. I'm not sure how to PM on here. I am on my iPhone through the app

    Too big to fly?

Ok thanks for the response guys. That makes me feel a lot better. I have some time in between and my preop diet to lose a little weight before surgery which should help as well.
