January or February 2016 Sleevers?
Jenkins replied to songsmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Struggling! Last 2 weeks no weight loss and last 5 weeks weight loss slowing down to 1lb a week - snacking too much and eating way too much bad crap. Slowly old habits have crept back in. I never thought I would be struggling this early on and jeopardising everything. I really need to get back on track ASAP - went shopping today and plan to start tomorrow getting on track. Really hope I can cut out the crap and start eating well again. -
8 weeks post-op (sleeve)
Jenkins replied to LollyKates's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi @innersurfergirl I am wondering how you are doing with your hair considering your high protein intake? Have you managed to avoid or minimise hair loss!? Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App -

Jenkins replied to songsmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost exactly the same! Same surgery date, I was 274lbs on surgery day & now 240lbs! I lost 20lbs before surgery so 54 lbs down in total -
UK - Protein Powder / Bars / Best protein food tips please
Jenkins replied to Clodee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am super enviable of all the options they have in US, especially this Isopure clear Water stuff!! I'm using The Protein Works protein,it's a UK based online company I've tried 6 flavours and hate them all but they have countless more. Now I'm buying unflavoured and adding sugar free cordial, I still hate it but it's better than those rotten fake flavours! Some people like them but u can't get past the fakeness!! Jenkins replied to smb1966's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

Slow weight loss after the sleeve
Jenkins replied to new_bella's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm frustrated too with slow weight loss but I'm so worried it's because I am going something wrong rather than because 'everyone is different'. I don't have a proper meal plan or ongoing support. I was sleeved abroad and I am struggling to find a NUT who has bariatric experience! Of course I've garnered information from all over the web and I think I'm on track but its hard second guessing yourself. When I read the endless comments about stalls and slow lose I just think everyone is afraid that this isn't going to work for them! Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App -
I can't drink another protein shake

I feel your pain! I posted something similar a few weeks ago and someone just said you need to treat it like medicine! So now I just power through even though they are vile! -
Will this help with food addiction?
Jenkins replied to CRNA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Reading the comments, you can really see that everyone is different. I am only 5 weeks out but really struggling with my old demons - it is just as tough as a 'normal' diet, pre being sleeved. It is all about making the right choices & not giving in to the old temptations! From reading other peoples comments, I feel as if it is too early for me to having such a difficult time but like I said everyone is different! I really hoped I would be one of those people who wouldn't be hungry & who would have to remind themselves to eat but I am not so it is going to be an ongoing battle but I really want this to be a success so I will keep trying until they come up with the neuro-sleeve! -
I am experiencing some serious cravings since one day postop - I am now almost 4 weeks postop & I haven’t properly cheated but that is only purely down to fear! I am really interested to see how soon people had a cheat meal or junk food after the surgery? Also, how many of you have completely removed all the old junk food from your diet? Or how many of you allowed yourself treats in moderation? I just had my first post op visit to my psychologist and we were discussing whether I am one of those people who can do moderation or else whether I need to consider completely removing the junk FOREVER! I’d appreciate your honesty as always! Thanks, J

How long before you 'cheated'?
Jenkins replied to Jenkins's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, thanks for the great reply! what an enviable position to be in, I love your attitude! I really hope I can get there one day -
Self-Sabotage & why I eat crap
Jenkins replied to Ruth1ess's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am only 3 weeks post op and having all the old cravings, even the first week I kept thinking 'oh I cant wait til I can eat that again' - getting sleeved changes nothing! Getting to grips with these feelings are so hard to deal with - going through the entire surgery process only to be left wanting to self-sabotaging so soon! I guess it is a process, I am seeing a psychologist to help me with this & I really hope it works although it will be a very slow process. -
I was told after mine that I had a lot of inflammation, the doc decided to prescribe me acid reflux tablets straight away and that was it, he said I would be on them after the surgery anyway! I am sure it is nothing to worry about

Today is the day I get sleeved, FINALLY!
Jenkins replied to amandastearns's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best of luck! I experienced minimal plan, nausea was the killer for me! You will feel better with every hour that goes by! it is incredible! -
Yep don't worry because you are heading for a stall pretty soon! I had rapid loss the first 10 days too and then it slow down and now it has halted completely. Part of the process

So frustrated I feel like I could cry.
Jenkins replied to LeslesLosingIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When browsing these forums before my surgery I would had scoffed at this & said 'why are you complaining?' but now I am in exactly the same situation and feeling exactly the same!! Like you I know that 'it is part of the process' but it is tough! We are all in rush to see the results of this bloody hard work we are doing! I am just onto the start of my fourth week post op and praying the scales will move, I am down 19lbs so far and the scales haven't moved in almost over 1.5 weeks now! so depressing! But we have no option but to just keep on going! -
Week 3 post op & only lost 3 lbs this week - is this normal?
Jenkins replied to Athenyx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Nina113 - I am exactly the same! 19lbs lost and now nothing I am moving onto my fourth week on Wednesday so hopefully I will move out of this infamous '3rd week stall' It is comforting to know that this is just part of the process, trying not to let it get to me down but it is hard when I am trying so hard! -
I feel exactly the same - I am just over 2 weeks post op and I feel great and full of energy. I am walking 4km per day but want to start going back to the gym. My doctor recommended 3 weeks so I am going back on Sunday and I will take it really easy and listen to my body! I was super active before the surgery so itching to get back!

Day 7 - Hating Protein Shakes & Worried about Future Food..
Jenkins posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on Day 7 - Physically, I am doing so well, I don't even feel the need to nap! However, emotionally I am struggling. I am on my liquid diet, I am not enjoying anything I can have so have no appetite but I am seriously hungry albeit maybe head hungry! What makes matters worse is that I absolutely HATE Protein shakes. I have now tried 6 different flavors and hate them all. I just spend the day DREADING having to drink them. Right now I can't see myself ever liking them Anyone find any interesting alternatives? I guess the liquid and puree diet is going to be hard but it also has me worrying about the future. How hard is it going to be to stick to all of this? I am cravings all the old junk food and feeling like I just can't wait to eat it again - is this normal? I received a post op diet guide but don't have ongoing NUT support (although I am trying to find someone with bariatric specific experience which isnt easy). I just still feel so unprepared for the future - anyone willing to share their post-op diet guidelines? So many mixed emotions, it is very tough -
Help! I had my sleeve on January 11,2016 and I am 3 and a half weeks Post op.
Jenkins replied to SusanFrye's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Jamie, Wondering since you lost weight at a steady & slowish pace if you avoided any hair loss? Thanks, J -
Thanks for sharing your experience - as I was sleeved abroad (1 week ago) I am terrified of having any complications so I am super paranoid. Wish you a speedy recovery!

Prices and surgeons in European please
Jenkins replied to robbie&kaitlyn's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Arrived on Tuesday, admitted to hospital on Wednesday morning, surgery that afternoon, discharged Friday afternoon and home on Saturday! -
This is a great thread as we all seem to be around 1 week out. I was sleeved on 27th. I too was wondering about how much Water I can drink at the one time, I am still not 'gulping' it down but I easily keep on drinking consistently throughout the day. I am seriously hatin' Protein shakes but am trying to get over it! I am still feeling pretty hungry and I am craving all the usual junk but I hope this will change once I get onto proper foods but its a full 3 weeks away! I hope the time goes by quickly enough!

Day 7 - Hating Protein Shakes & Worried about Future Food..
Jenkins replied to Jenkins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much for everyone's feedback and advice! I am feeling much better today and I have decided to take @@JamieLogical advice and put my big girl panties on! This is officially my new mantra! And these words from @@AvaFern definitely makes me feel better - roll on week 5! The search will go on for a Protein shake I enjoy! -
2 days postop... How did you feel?
Jenkins replied to BrightEyes42's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel exactly the same about this site. I would be completely freaking out right now about this regret I am feeling if I hadn't have read so many people who had the same feelings. It seems to just be part of the process so I am just taking it in my stride -

Jenkins replied to robbie&kaitlyn's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hey, I am just back from Belgium - 6.5k Euro for the sleeve including accomodation and airport transfers. I was unlucky and had complication but overall the experience was positive and the standard of care was high. This is the website http://www.belgiumsurgeryservices.com - I was slightly put off by the website because it looks crap but I also had a few recommendations so went on that. PM me if you want more details. J
