    banded 2-3 or more years

How did you did you get yourself back to losing. I am about 2 1/2 yrs. out and lost about 48 lbs., but have slowly gained back about 15 pounds. Very discouraged. Still can't eat much, but seem to be able to gain.
  2. Hi I have been losing really slow. 1/2 pound a week or so. I am wondering if anyone has advice on portions. I have a 9cc band and have 5.5 cc filled. Sometimes I can eat only a tiny bit, but other times can eat what I think is a really big portion. I am going to water aerobics 3x week and playing tennis some. A little discouraged, that inches or weight are moving.
  3. You might try the sugar free popscicles. They were a life saver for me. Also the cream soups add water to dilute more. Hang in there every day gets better!

    Hey yall from TX

Hi I live in Uvalde. I had my surgery in S.A. with Dr. Pilcher with New Dimensions/Health for Life Center on Jan. 15th. I am 6 wks. post-op. Your going to do great! Can't believe how well it has gone already. I have had 2 fills, not painful at all, just a little soreness for a day or so. I just started on solid food this week. My Dr. is strict on full liquids, or as he says if it will go thru a straw. I got hungrier by the end. But also lost weight really well. So good luck! Let me know if you have any questions.

    Desperate for Feedback

Oh, don't be scared. It will be great! I was banded on Jan. 15th, 08. I have been on liquids for about 5 wks. now, getting a little hungrier, but still, it is amazing what you can puree. I too, had a little discomfort with gas rising to shoulder area, but you must walk and exercise to push that on out. There are risk, but there are risk if you don't lose the weight also. You will be suprised how well you do feel as soon as a week or so after surgery. Your hunger should be minimal for a few weeks after surgery. I started a few weeks before with not drinking with meals and trying to only eat small amounts, so my stomach was not all stretched out and definitely gave up sugarary snacks. I think that helped alot when started with weightloss, because I didn't have such cravings. Best of luck too you and your new journey.
  6. Hi wanted to let you know I had that delima also, my in-laws were all very skinny, but I ended up telling them. They really didn't comment much to me or my face. I have lost 20 lbs so far, none of them have really commented on it either. Of course they keep asking me how much I have lost. That seems to be the question of people who know, is everyday How much have you lost? Some you want to tell others you just want them to notice. I live in a small town, so it doesn't take long for word to get out. Good luck! You will do great! Don't worry about in-laws. Be proud of every pound you lose.
  7. Hi Congratulations, I too had surgery on 15th. Who was your Dr.? I used Dr. Pilcher. I have lost about 13 pounds so far too. The eating liquids is not so bad. I live in Uvalde, Texas. Glad to see when there are other folks in area.
  8. I too was banded on Jan. 15th, have been eating the creamy soups, jello, popsicles, cream of wheat sometimes. I had terrible rumbling for about 5 days, then finally subsided. I decided it was more about gas than really being hungry. Yesterday I had a problem that was really weird too, but I took gas X and it seemed to resolve. I had had a shake in morning, then about 1:00 got an overwhelming nausea, felt terrible a couple of more times, by night was feeling better. Don't know if anyone else has experienced the nausea feeling. Glad to read post from other people at same stage! Very helpful!

    Newly Banded

Congratulations on your loss so far. I too was banded on Jan. 15th. I am doing really well too. I hope to go back to work on Thurs. I have to see if I can get a release from my Dr., the eating is going good too. I too am really loving the creamy soups, lots of jello, and popsicles. I have had a few protein shakes, but only if I feel really hungry. I am really impressed with how well the soreness in tummy has diminished.
  10. Hi, I just recently had surgery on Jan. 15th also. Your so right first week was pretty easy. I have started eating thinned creamed soups at least once a day. I am still having a growling, gurgling stomach. I can't decide if hunger or gas still. Do you have any good liquid meal ideas.
  11. Hi just read your post. Don't know if I am doing this right or not. I was banded on Jan. 15th and too had to pay out of pocket. I would be really interested in knowing the name of the insurance you are talking about.
  12. Well, very excited had surgery on Tues. Jan. 15th. Today is second day. Feeling okay, not great! My stomach is grumbling something terrible. Wondered if any one else might have experienced this. I am drinking enough fluids, I feel like. Nothing taste good at all yet. I hope I feel a little better tomorrow. The pain is not bad from the incisions, just the tummy rumbling.:tt1:
  13. Have been reading the different posts on site for awhile. I am having my surgery on Tues. Jan. 15th. Dr. John Pilcher in San Antonio is doing surgery. I am so nervous, really big decision. But see other people and hearing their stories is really helping. I am sure I will be asking some questions soon.

    Excited to have surgery!

No not really, I have been reading lots of different things. Seems every Dr. is different. I have been trying for the last couple of weeks to just drink liquids, but have eaten some too. I am trying to get drinking only mode, as my Dr. prefers 6 wks of liquids, maybe some broth if real hungrey. So Yikes! that seems scary, but from what I have reading and talking with people who had done, they say that is much easier when you have the surgery. I sure hope so! My pre-op papers only say to be fasting after midnight before surgery.
