So glad to have discovered this forum!  I'm 62 years old, so in some circles that's senior citizen status...but I have worked with young people my entire life and feel much younger.  My weight has always been an issue but got really bad after I had my two children.  I gained about 5-10 lbs a year until at my highest, a month ago, I hit 318.  I knew I had to get a grip.  After learning about the gastric sleeve and studying this and other options, I decided the sleeve was the right choice.  I was ticked off when my insurance company made me wait 6 months and go through a bunch of other hoops.  But surgery is TOMORROW and the wait period ended up being really helpful.  I am "ready!"  Over the 2 weeks of my pre-op diet I have dropped 18 lbs and this morning the scale said 299.2.  GOODBYE 300s!
