You've already gotten wonderful advice. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
-
Is there anything else you can change up? Exercise, the fats you eat, the number of carbs? You could still be losing inches and not weight as your body adjusts.

I'm glad you found the forum. Lots of great people and advice. Thank you for sharing your story and welcome!!

The post op return to work
TinyTink replied to nurse247's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be going back on Monday, which will be my 10th postop day. I'm sure I'll be able to manage, as I could have gone back already if I needed to. My only issue is quick bathroom trips from the antibiotic I'm still on. Everyone is different so you'll have to see how you do. Best results will come from following all of your instructions. Walk, walk, walk, drink, drink, drink, follow your food plan and Celebrate your new life! -
Trader Joe's frozen riced cauliflower
TinyTink replied to marypups's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's too funny. I just replied to someone and mentioned this and now I read your post. Yes, it's delicious, and very inexpensive. I used to use it for chop suey, next up is mini stuffed baby peppers. Really, you can substitute it anywhere you'd use rice. I am planning on smaller quantities so I can keep Protein my main intake. -
You are a beautiful bride!! Stunning dress too. Best wishes to you and your new hubby.

It's usually better to have your gallbladder out when you aren't having an acute problem. See what your doc has to say about it but personally I'd try to find a doable time frame in your schedule. If you've started having issues, it's unlikely to stop. Good luck.

That is an incredible loss for one year. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

Beautiful smile. You look great!!

POST OP (6 + months) Questions
TinyTink replied to 2016newmesf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Instead of rice, you could try riced cauliflower. They sell frozen 12 oz bags of it at Trader Joe's for only a couple bucks. I didn't think I would like it at all (and I'm not eating yet postop) but I was pleasantly surprised to find that when it's topped with my homemade chop suey, you can pretty easily convince yourself it's the real thing. You can also make your own with a grater or food processor, but cheap as it as, I'll pay to have it prepared. I plan on using it to make mini stuffed peppers using those sweet baby bells, just in smaller quantity so I get my Protein. -
If that's your dream, I hope it works out for you. Just make sure you're well healed before boot camp hits!

Give them away. This is different. You aren't dieting anymore. You've made a complete lifestyle change and you'll be a fabulous success!!

2 weeks until surgery and nervous and excited all at the same time
TinyTink replied to redemmy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My grandbabies are 1 1/2 and 4 and it's been hard this week to keep them from jumping on me or running full force into a hug. I only really got a zinger of pain once but that was enough!. Just be prepared to block. They haven't paid any attention to my eating habits. Now if only I could keep my cats off me when I'm in bed..... -
Well, I already have the screaming trots so it wouldn't matter too much. It'll go away after I'm off antibiotics. Not even Probiotics are helping at this point.
-
My goodness!! I hope your health continues to improve at home. There's nothing like your own comfy bed.

I got a surgery date, yay!

Congratulations! -
How awful that you're unsupported by your surgeon. I just wanted to comment that YOU ARE NOT a failure. No way, no how. This whole thing is a process and it happens differently for everyone.
-
Not everyone will have difficulty with getting their fluids in after surgery. I'm one of the lucky ones. As was suggested, I started "practicing" no fluids with meals, chewing like crazy, etc., ahead of time. You'll have a much easier time and feel so much better if you're able to get your fluids in. I had that in my head as a major goal and did well. Good luck!

Whoo hoo!! Awesome job!

Are you COLDER after surgery?
TinyTink replied to bugsy72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish that was an effect for me but it hasn't been so far. I actually somehow think I feel warmer most of the time. -
3rd week post op misery
TinyTink replied to kaydeemacc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Google Shelly's Ricotta Bake. You can have it on pureed and it's delicious! Try adding Crystal Light to your Water. When I was preop and wanted something sweet, I would add Torani Syrup (sugar-free) to ricotta cheese, mix well, and I swear in my little brain it easily passes for cheesecake or even cannoli filling depending on the flavors I used. You'll get there!! -
Sadly, it's really trial and error. Your body will let you know right away what is and isn't going to work for you.
-
You can also buy Ketone Test Strips at your local pharmacy. You dip one in urine, wait 40 seconds, and match up the level of purple you get. You really need to stay on top of your fluids when in ketosis.

Dumbest thing you ever heard...
TinyTink replied to TinyTink's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And today I'll just say I'm in the bathroom very very frequently due to the antibiotics. I know I'll be skipping a number or two. No clue why something so stupid is driving me nuts. I must be part squirrel. -
This is going to sound ridiculous, but on those days where I have a mini-whoosh of weight loss, I'm mad the scale goes down and skips a number. All of those numbers have been important to me and I want to say goodbye to them forever. Ok, I'm over myself now. Sigh....
