I am a bypasser... had my bypass in 2015, turned 50 last year... having issues with GERD and reactive hypoglycaemia.. I live in Albury NSW Australia.

Hello I am from Albury Roux en y on June 16 2015.. not for weight loss but 3 failed nissen fundoplications for GERD. Operation by Mr Hii at Royal Melbourne Hospital. Regards Dawn

Hi Dawn I'm also going to see Dr Hii. I'm getting a revision from failed band to mini bypass. I live around half an hour from you, would love to hear your experiences. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App I am pretty much unrestricted on foods except I do get dysphagia from bread, red meat and rice. v much much smaller than I used to eat. I find if I eat sweet things they do not agree, dumping syndrome has been an issue here. When are you for surgery? Is at at Royal Melbourne?

Thank you for your input, I do not take nsaids, i am on Nexium- proton pump inhibitor, no helicobacter as I was tested for this. Regards Dawn

Yes they have confirmed it is Gerd. I had a gastroscopy on Monday and it says severe reflux esophagitis and a hiatus hernia. Dr says I have quite severe Gerd again. I see him on 5 October for discussion on where to from here. I have been tested for heli blactor and it was negative, no ulcer's or constrictions either regards Dawn

Hello Looking for information if anyone can help me. I had three nissen fundoplication operations for Gerd and they all failed. in June 2015 I had my roux en y.... now 15 months later I have another hiatis hernia, severe reflux and severe reflux eosphagitis. This was mean to be my final surgery to fix the Gerd.... Suggestions? Ideas? I am in Australia.. Thank you Dawn

HI Nymea I noticed Peter Nottle did your RNY.. He did 3 nissen fundoplications on me, each one failed. I had severe Gerd and a mixture of Hiatus and paraeosphegeal hernias. My first fundoplication lasted 4 months, the second 5 months and the 3rd 11 months. I hope your op went well. Kind regards Dawn

Hello, I am 14 months post op roux en y and I use instant protein powder from Aldi. I paid about $10 and I mix it in with a smoothie so I can not taste it. The protein powder comes in both vanilla and chocolate. Good Luck Dawn
