Hi. My name is Megan.I'm 37 and started looking at bariatric surgery options when my second son was four months old and I weighed 262 pounds, which my PCP told me was morbidly obese. This scared me. It's been 9 months of participation in a bariatric program with nutritionist meetings, psych evaluation, tests. I was required to lose 13 pounds (5%) and have lost 15 now.
I received word today that my insurance company (Cigna) approved me for surgery and that my surgeon just got extra OR time the day before Thanksgiving. I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea that I will be post op in 3 weeks. I'm excited and freaking out.
I am also still breastfeeding my 13 month old. I'm a little worried about hunger and the liquid 10 day diet as well as how that will work out being in the hospital. We will figure it out I'm sure.
I'm glad to learn about this. I will definitely benefit from support.
Thanks for reading.
