Throwing up..can anyone give advice??
Kat08 replied to Martie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was so glad to find this post. I'm 9 months out from surgery and had my 3rd fill on Sept. 2nd. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. Since the fill I've been losing everything I eat and having heart burn really bad at night and actually waking up and having to throw up. I went back to my Dr. last week and he put me on some meds and told me to make sure I didn't eat after 6:00. I was hoping that was going to work but it hasn't. I'm getting dehydrated and don't have any energy so I called and am seeing him in the morning and am really hoping he will take some out. -
Con't. Sorry hit the post button. Anyway tonight I bought a pair of 14P

I was banded on Jan 3rd, 2008. My high weight was 234 and I weighed in yesterday at 183. My weight loss comes in spurts. I'll lose about 8-10 lbs right after a fill (I had my 3rd about 2 weeks ago) then the scale stops but I notice a big change in clothes there after. I've lost 51 lbs and tonight I bought a pair of 14

I haven't noticed any problem with a straw. The main reason my Dr. said to watch it was because of swallowing too much liquid at one time. So take in small amounts and you should be fine. I also work for a dentist and if your Dentist called you in a prescription of antibiotics, they should help with the pain by tomorrow. That's if it is abscessed. Good luck with everything. Kat

I'm the burpy monster!

Mine are more like a hick up. My family calls them the meeps. Also, I get kind of a squeak when I'm at my stopping point. It's audible enough that my daughter will look at me and tell me I'm done. Anyone else get that? Kat -
Jack, I have a question about the band size. I had my first fill and was told he put in 1cc. He said I had a 10cc band but that it would only hold a max. of 4cc's. How does that work? Kat

Have you hit a plateau but are loosing inches?
Kat08 replied to SB0233's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm there with the rest of you. Lost 16 lbs real quick (surg. 1/3/08), then nothing. but I am losing inches. (measured at the gym yesterday and have lost quite a bit in 4 weeks, but like you all - I want to see the scale go down. I too, Ladytuscanny, I've been counting points and only get 15-22 a day and still do not lose. I get my 1st fill in 2 days and am hoping things will click in. Good luck to all of you, Kat -
Heather, my ins. was approved in 2 1/2 hours after submission! Good Luck

Hello all, I'm from Marshall County Alabama. I had my surgery on Jan. 3rd. BC/BS of Alabama did pay for my surgery after I went to my Dr. for 6 months. My Drs. office does not have a local support group so would appreciate any correspondence from others. Would like to hear how everyone is doing.

Nikki, I'm with you. Sometimes I feel like I could eat as much as I want (but don't). But, there are those days where I do get the full feeling (pain in the chest and back shoulder). I can't wait till my first fill to see if it makes a difference. Kat

Help Me I Feel Like a Failure
Kat08 replied to Ms.Toya's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on the liquid diet till my one week post op visit and he said I could start on smashed up foods and then a week later meats (well chewed). I'm 3 weeks out and am eating anything I want as long as I chew well. A friend who had hers done the same day as mine is having a hard time eating solid foods. Everyone is different. Just do what you can to be comfortable and let yourself heal. -
Hello, well I turned 49 yesterday (I still feel 25) I was banded on Jan. 3rd and have stopped losing. I can't wait till my 1st fill on Feb. 7th. So many of you have done so well. Congratulations. I can't wait till I begin to lose again. Kat

I really didn't have a lot of gas pain. I really started feeling better the 4th day. Mostly b/c I could move around and the more you can walk the better you will feel. Just remember it will get better. Good Luck. Kat

Congratulations! I was banded on the 3rd and had to spend the night. I've done very well since then and have not been sick at all. I hope everything continues well for you. My 3rd day was the worst but everyday after that is much better. Kat
