    Cramping and diarrhea!

I ate out yesterday....had chicken and spinach salad....could it be food poisoning? [emoji16]
  2. My first consult was in early Oct. surgery was Feb 17th ...My insurance required 3 months diet and exercise and my surgeon wanted me to lose 20 lbs [emoji106]

    The big day

The pain wasn't all that bad for me...I had surgery on Wednesday and by Sunday I wasn't taking anything more for pain [emoji2] I was pleasantly surprised the first time they made me get out of bed after surgery...I thought omg this is going to hurt....nope didn't hurt much at all [emoji106]

    Eating habits = no Bueno.

Don't beat yourself up...pick yourself up....dust yourself off and move on! Voice your concerns at your appointment on Wednesday....They are there to help you through this [emoji3]. Carbs are evil! I know what you mean there....I've been having mashed potatoes more then I probably should because they go down so well....I'm just over 6 weeks post op as well....We will make this work! Good luck at your appointment!

    The big day

It's perfectly normal to be nervous! You will probably experience some buyers remorse for a couple weeks but it gets better each day. I think it's a hormonal thing! I'm 6 weeks post op Gastric Bypass and just now starting to feel somewhat "normal" The thing that surprised me the most was the complete lack of energy in the first few weeks...everything seemed like such an effort to me...but everyone is different! My weight day of surgery was 295 and as of this morning I'm down to 267 [emoji3]...it came off rapidly the first week for me...then I hit a almost 2 week stall...that sucked! Good luck to you!!

    Feeling alone on this journey

Bypass doll.....My plan combined the puréed stage with the dental soft food stage....so I was on clear liquids the first week, puréed/soft dental weeks 2&3 then weeks 4&5 GI soft foods, now at week 6 I'm on regular foods and the only things that change from now on is the amount of food I eat ...I think until I eventually reach 1 cup [emoji3]

    Feeling alone on this journey

I'm 6 weeks post op and have had the feelings of regrets and bouts of crying many many times!! The thing that bothered me most was the lack of energy to do simple tasks like taking a shower! All that is much better now [emoji3] I'm just entering the regular foods stage now and I have to admit it is Scarey trying new foods hoping not to dump! Then there is the scale...I dropped weight off super fast the first week...then I stalled for a week and a half...that was very hard on my mental well being....I thought...what the heck did I do to myself!!!??? I cried a lot during that period [emoji53] The pounds still aren't coming off at a rate I'm happy with but the inches are coming off...I'm finding bones!! [emoji12]. It will get better....we just have to focus on the long term results...How can we not lose weight in the long run??

    Crackers?

My plan says crackers are ok as long as they are paired with protein. I too like tuna, chicken and egg salad on crackers.

Smokers Beware! - I have an ulcer

Sorry you are going through this....I feel for smokers going through WLS...Not only do they have to give up the comfort of food but also cigarettes....oh and if you are a social drinker...triple whammy! I'm fortunate in that I neither drink nor smoke....never have [emoji3]
  11. I have this horrible fear of eating out and dumping in public places. Does anyone else have this fear? I am 4.5 weeks post op and have not experienced dumping syndrome yet. I hate having this fear! Will I get past this? I don't want to live in fear of going places for the rest of my life [emoji53]. What do you do when you travel? My son lives a 10 hr drive away from us and we usually make this trip 4 times a year. Then while visiting him it always involves site seeing, eating out and always on the go....As of right now I feel like I'm not going to enjoy this anymore [emoji53]. One of the reasons for having this surgery is so I can enjoy physical activities while visiting him. Thanks for any input [emoji4]

Fear of eating out and dumping

Djmohr , Thank you for the advice. I'm glad to know that not everyone dumps. I was under the impression that you will dumb if you eat these certain foods. I plan on staying away from those foods for awhile [emoji3] Don't want to lose my "window" of losing!

Fear of eating out and dumping

Good luck Threetimesacharm! I'm hoping it will be easier to find something at most restaurants once I can eat raw veggies. I laugh at my Nutritionist...she says see if they will let you order off the kids menu. Have you looked at the foods on the kids menu? Not exactly bariatric friendly! [emoji12]

    Protein shots at GNC

If they are the New Whey protein shots...I thought they were disgusting, but other people have liked them. I only tried the fruit punch flavor [emoji12]
  15. Called the Drs office today....nothing to be alarmed about...She thinks I strained too much.....heating pad and Tylenol for a few days [emoji2]
  16. I had an episode yesterday morning where I all of the sudden broke into a cold sweat and started to feel like I was going to throw up. Now my pouch is not feeling well still this morning. It is tender if I press on my stomache ....I don't think it was dumping because I had the same thing for breakfast that I've been having every morning for the past week...a protein shake. Could I just have a bug? It's not a sharp pain...just kind of a dull ache...full feeling. Tomorrow will be week 3 post op. Just curious if anyone has experienced this and wondering if I should call my Drs office....Thanks for any advice given [emoji4]
  17. Would be nice if this come with a troubleshooting manual! [emoji12]

    3 Milestones in One!

    Yay!! Congrats! ????????????
  19. Had my last appointment with my Surgeon on Tuesday 1/12/16.....I have completed all my required steps per my insurance ????. Waiting is so stressful! My surgeon was very pleased with my progress and ready to move forward...that made me happy! I was told it will probably be around the end of February beginning of March...I was hoping for mid February but that's ok....I just want to get this new chapter in my life started!
  20. I called BCBS and my stuff is still in review ???? at least I know they received it on January 13th so that's good to know ????...Waiting when you are so close stinks!
  21. Does anyone use these? I've seen mixed reviews as far as if they are ok to use after WLS. I'm just trying to find a good tasting clear liquid protein for after surgery . Thanks!
