Sorry for my soap box but I have had a lot of man trouble and I am only 19!! I can only imagine how the rest of my days will turn out!!

Yes it is so worth it!! I was so relaxed the day of the surgery!! I was so excited. I have lost 21 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks!! that's crazy!! I feel so much better and you can tell I have lost the weight too!! I have more energy, happiness, and zest for life!! I can't wait to see what I am gonna look like in several more months!! I hope you decide to continue with this journey because its so empowering and life changeing! If you need to talk to anyone about it, I am so here!!

My name is Ashley I was banded on the 21st of December, I am a 19 year old full time sophomore college student. I was banded by Dr John Groves whom 8 months ago had it himself. Painwise I am much better! Note to peeps who like subway stay away from the wraps!! I tried one today..doesn't go down well!! I have done great with everything else..my taste buds have changed like Dr. Groves thought they would has anyone else experienced that?? But it's great I have lost 21lbs and still going strong...my first fill should be soon..anyone who wants to chat let me know

Okay so I had my surgery December the 21st 2007. I know I know right before Christmas!! But that's a totally different story!! I did okay...I was allergic to my pain pills so I had to go cold turkey on pain but I believe that it was for the best. I had my first check up last thursday and I have lost 21 lbs and I have already came of my blood pressure pills!! What a relief that was. If anything about my life was worrysome it was those blasted blood pressure pills at 19. My friends were always so nervous and worried about me and that wasn't a great feeling. Don't get me wrong it showed that they cared but I felt like a burden on them. But the not eating much thing has been rough. I was an emotional eater and during my first 2 weeks I went through some rough stuff and lots of stress because I took my finals the day before surgery and I was waiting on grades...rough let me tell you! But everything turned out great!! I am so excited that I found this site! I have been needing to get peoples opinnion and stories for support and comfort and this is such a blessing!! If anyone has any great recipes or wants to share their experience with me I am more than welcoming it!! Thanks so much!! Ashley

I hate fish!! Omg!! When my doctor told me that it was good for me I was traumatized!! Anything that swims I dont eat....lol any suggestions!

lol I've heard but most women are freaks anyway I don't care what they say!! I am totally open about it all and I have been going crazy! My guy has been good about and but he gets nervous and doesn't want to hurt me so he stops. So I will get some info from some ladies and let him know its cool!!

I got my band like 2 1/2 weeks ago and I swear my sex drive has been through the roof..but I have been leary about it because I haven't fully recovered. How long did ya'll wait til you had sex after surgery. I wanted to ask my doctor but I just couldn't lol he's too sweet for that!

I don't think you did..I think you might have just stretched your incision a little mine feels that way alot too.. just be careful and stay away from elastic waist bands!! they also contribute to pain!!

I wore sports bras when it started hurting..it lifted them so it was all good. Other than that I didn't care to go braless!

I have the same thing...I cut my other stitches out but I left that one alone lol it annoys me but I am gonna hope that it falls out soon or I will eventually cut it out too!!

Question has anyone tried to eat Subway? If so how did it go any suggestions on whether I should go wrap or toasted wheat....I am at week three and I am a college student and it's so hard to find something to eat on the days I am at the college all day and don't have a way of bringing my own food.

I think it is awesome that you are so devoted to your friend to ask for advice on here..I wish I had friends like that. I tell people about my band, it doesn't bother me. I did it for my health!! I am 19 years old and I have been dieting since I was in the 4th grade!! It's nothing my parents did I was just an emotional eater and it got out of hand. I had high blood pressure and all. Let someone tell me that I took the easy way out cause trust me this is so much harder!! No one knows until they go through it! I didn't cheat, I had to do what I thought was best! So tell your friend to their head up and don't worry about others think because all that matters is your health, happiness, and loved ones!! Ashley
