    I has GERD and did the bypass surgery instead. Bypass helps with reflux.

    I had the same problem during our dinner with friends in Thanksgiving. I took my water with me. The people around me were so focus on eating their own food and talk that they didn't realize I ate only 4 grapes and tiny peace of turkey. I sat down at the table and I just talked with others and nobody asked me anything.
