RNY 1.5 months post op

Congrats! I'm so happy for you! Continue your hard work! -
During my liquid weeks, my surgeon too told to emphasize in protein and no fruits. I was having three protein shakes (90g protein). Also 3 protein water, which each had 15 g each. So I used to finish my day with more than 100g protein. The problem was that I was constipated all the time and I lost 10 pounds very slow. As soon I eliminate the store shake with a homemade shake I began to lose weight.

You Should go to your primary doctor so you can have blood test. It can be anemia or low in vitamin D or something else. Try to have multivitamin and iron, B-12, calcium, vitamin D and B-50 daily or whatever your physician tells you.

I'm in my second week post op too and having the same problem. I used probiotic, stool softener pills, magnesium milk daily and still is a problem. Today I need to use suppositories and that help. Tomorrow I'm going for diet advancement to phase 2 purée food. I hope the new diet will help me to be more regularly.

Battling Feelings of Shame
hildaruiz29 replied to Jasley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember obesity comes with guilt and be ashamed. Don't worry our body is like a work in progress, nobody is perfect. Let's do an example if you have a recurrent headache pain you can take pills, and diet to help with the pain. As it gets worse you will need the dr opinions and extra labs, X-rays or MRI to check on you because you cant manage it alone. Don't be ashamed, feels proud that you identified that you need help and you have available another tool to help you. I didn't tell anybody too because I didn't want any opinion to affect my decision. Once I got the surgery I told my close friends. Stay positive you have to do focus in getting better not in what others people think -
