  1. Wow. That is a problem that I'd like to have !!! Are you able to dial it up to a firmness that is super stiff ? Yes sir! You may need to try a few different numbers to see what worked best for you. And also, will not bother the person next to you when you get up or turn.
  2. I no longer use anything on my skin but cold press coconut oil. I was advised its good for the skin especially after WLS. I also use it for deep conditioning my hair. Applying coconut oil to the bottom of my feet has eliminated cracks and dryness. I keep a jar on my nightstand.
  3. I swear by my sleep number mattress. Only problem I had was when we first got it over a decade ago it was easy to sleep over 8 hours. Without an alarm it was hard to wake up. They did warn me about this at the store. Prior to that on a spring mattress I used to toss, turn and also had aches and pains if I stayed in bed over 5-6 hours at a time. I also don't have to sleep with a pillow between my legs since this mattress.

    Peanut butter and crackers

At a local grocery store they have the machine to grind and make your own Peanut Butter. They also sell nuts in bulk. I have seen people grind their own. I think I will give it a try one day in the very near future. My NUT said we can have PB. I will have to see if this will be better than the PB2. Do any of you make your own? If so, any special tricks or suggestions?
  5. Happy Belated Birthday!!!! Forty is the new twenty. Keep the party going minus the unhealthy eating and drinking. Twerking sounds the safest of them all. IJS ????????
  6. Once I hit my goal I would like to paraglide, or jump out of a plane. Maybe a hot air balloon ride will suffice. My challenge is to face my fear of height.
  7. Congrats on all your hard earned milestones. I love the makeup idea. Will definitely borrow that from you. Thanks.
  8. If you are not comfortable with a full body massage try a mani pedi. Spas offer a plethora of services. Believe me not everyone who goes to a spa is a runway model. You deserve to get pampered. Take your sis or friend with you. It might help ease you into it.
  9. I'm waiting for December to buy a few new clothing essentials for the wardrobe. By then I will definitely be swimming in my current wardrobe.
  10. I thought about that. It was on my shortlist, but realized my little daughter might be freaked out by them LOL I think you should go for it. It's well deserved. ????

Having a period right before surgery?

Gift because without it there will be no human reproduction. Also, it's a gift when you don't want to conceive and you are late but the minute it comes you jump with joy. Depends really on the situation. It's a curse on special occasions. Like it or not it's a natural part of our existence. Just make peace with it.
  12. Hi, I am 3 weeks out of surgery. And I'm in pureed stage of my diet. I still want to go out and hangout with family and friends for meals. Some people think it's a waste if I go order a cup of soup n only drink the broth part of it. I'm not tempted when I see others eating nor do I regret my decision. I like the socializing part of eating out with folks. I understand it's not cost effective. But this is the new me. I will eventually be able to eat until then I don't want to miss out on social gatherings with family and friends. I can't shut myself in because I made this conscious decision to get sleeved to get to a healthier weight. I have yet to eat or drink anything that is not on my bariatric diet menu. I have always been a social person and I don't want that to change as I love my family and friends.
  13. I should not blame anyone or anything for my weight gain besides myself for becoming lazy and not caring about anything. I ate out three times a day. Snacked mindlessly when bored. Living just minutes away from Napa and Sonoma wine countries I kinda considered myself a foodie and Sunday's was for a nice wine country drive with my buddy for some epicurean adventure. The weight crept on gradually. Luckily, I decided to take charge of my health and not let my taste buds dictate my life before I got any health issues. I want to travel to foreign lands. And sitting in a plane is not fun when you are big.
  14. I had told my coworkers I was having surgery but not the specifics. My family and close friends know what kind of surgery I had and are very supportive. I'm looking forward to the holiday season because by then I will be rocking a new wardrobe and that keeps me motivated. My sister is hosting thanksgiving and was very sweet to inquire about what kind of foods I will be able to consume by then so she can accommodate my special dietary need. Truly blessed to have people who care and love me so dearly.
  15. For some it is just Rugby. Netball got replaced by basketball. Never was a fan of cricket.
  16. I can be mean and change the subject to this past weekends rugby finals. ????

    First Restaurant Dinner Out?

Chinese restaurant and had just the broth from egg flower soup. I was very cautious about not eating any chunks. It went pretty well. The second to Mexican restaurant. Had refried beans with a tiny bit of cheese. Since my surgery I have been out a few times a week with different friends or family members and had all types of clear soups. I have yet to venture out and order fish or chicken. Maybe after my one month mark I will try.

Having a period right before surgery?

Sometimes your gift ( why do we call it a gift) from Mother Nature arrives later when you are under stress. Either way I will echo what others have said the medical staff have seen it all.
  21. Ditto! Every minute is precious. Tonight, I took mom out to dinner. Even though I didn't eat since I had a protein shake for dinner earlier. She and I had a great time laughing and bonding. Food didn't even cross my mind.

    Who Are You?

Hi all, I'm 38 single and was sleeved on 10/12/15. I am from Bay Area in California. Surgery and recovery was painless and without complications thanks to the skillful surgeons and the wonderful team of medical staff at the hospital.
  23. I am actually trying to find a less stressful job now that my surgery is over. Also, one that will be closer to home so I can incorporate a workout schedule and not spend three hours in traffic each day. I'm working with my company to see if I can get something locally. So far I'm very optimistic about seeing positive results from my surgery and a few lifestyle changes.
