I am a physical therapist and we have a plateform vibration machine and it does not help with weight loss, it is made for people with back and spinal problems.
-
I waited about a week also, as the person before said just be careful! Some positions are not so comfortable!

Question from a newcomer.
jvance74 replied to SharonH's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I do not regret my band either, I have been banded almost 2 months. You do get frustrated as you are having to re-train yourself to eat smaller bites and chew alot. I have lost 38lbs so far and I am down 4 pant sizes! It is so worth it! Good Luck! -
Hi everyone, I just joined DFW Bandsters today and I am very interested in when ya'll have meetings or anything I can get involved in. Could someone please give me information on your group! Thank you so much!

First Week Post OP Food
jvance74 replied to beth122's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sugar free popsicles, pudding, (believe it or not that consider that a liquid) gatorade, beef broth, applesauce, I did all those. I am just now on mushy food and loving it! :pray2: -
Tomorrow morning is my 1st appt with the surgeon!!!
jvance74 replied to Angie19805's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went to a seminar about December 12th, had my consultation a week later and then had my surgery on January 4th. I was a self pay so it is a much faster process. I need to loose 80lbs and I have lost 20 so far. I had my surgery on Friday and went back to work on Monday even though I was still tired. You start feeling really good around the 4th-5th day. They want you to talk to a physchiatrist to make sure you are really ready for this surgery, since it is a life changing surgery. You have to put alot of work into this surgery to make it a sucess. It is not easy believe me! Well good luck with your journey! -
Questions for all that have been banded or are in the process
jvance74 replied to 88Shelly88's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have a feeling they will not cover your surgery being you have no other "co-morbitites" such as High blood pressure, diabetes, things of that nature. It is VERY hard to get insurances to pay for this surgery. I just went self pay as it is much easier that way. Good Luck in your journey! -
Hi Chell, I was banded on 1/4/08 and I love it so far. I have lost 22lbs already. Surgery was simple, little sore after, I went back to work 2 days later! I go for my first fill on 2/4/08, but as of right now, I am not hungry at the least bit! It will be a great decision for you and it will help you in the long run! Good Luck!

I can not believe you are already eating normal food! I just started mushy food yesterday and I can not have "solid" foods for 2 more weeks! You are lucky! I am nervous about my fill also, but from people I know they say it is a piece of cake! I will let you know!

Believe it or not, it has not been near as hard as I thought! I stopped liquids yesterday, Thank god! I started mushy food today and I had 3 oz of tuna w/ low fat mayo and I feel stuffed! I have lost as of today 22 lbs and I was banded a week ago. I walked for 52 minutes yesterday and that was a great accomplishment for me! I have 60 more lbs to go! I get my first fill in 2 weeks! Pipa keep me posted on your progress, You can do it!

I was banded on 1/4/08 and I am scheduled for my first fill on 2/4/08, exactly 4 weeks! My doctor seems to be more aggressive than most, but I am still not hungry! I started on mushy food yesterday, I have to do that for the next 2 weeks, then I can start on solids also!

I appreciate you telling me all that. I am staying focused, I had surgery this past Friday and I have lost 16lbs already! I get my first fill on 2/4/08, and that seems soon to others that I have read on here! Alot do not have a fill until like 7 weeks! You are doing great Reif, you will be looking good in no time! :clap2: -
I was banded this past Friday and i have lost 17lbs so far. I have not had any problems other than a little pain around the port sight. I am still on the clear liquids until this coming Sunday, so it will have been 10 days of clear liquids, then I get to move on to "mushy" foods. I am so excited about eating something with a little texture! I go for my first fill on 2/4/08............I can wait to weigh in then! Good Luck to all:whoo:
