So is it normal to sometimes forget that you've been sleeved? I keep forgetting. I go to take a bite of something then right as I pick it up I have to remind myself that my tiny tummy can't handle that right now. It's very frustrating. I'm 7 days out and the tenderness is gone unless something pushes directly onto the incision, I forget i I have them and that I've had the surgery..... is this normal?
-
Yes I forget with water too! It's not the most comfortable.

I did my pre op testing at local doctors and just flew down for the surgery. I had 2 different phone appointments with my surgeon but that was it. I flew in on Monday evening. Had my sleeve done on tuesday morning and was back home by Tuesday evening. We recover ALOT fast because we are low bmi. I called a Couple local surgeons and they wouldn't even speak to me. So I went with the Nicholson clinic

Any FEBRUARY sleevers?!
JapGirl replied to Salinagetssleeved's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't get mine very regularly. I have a mirena and it only comes like every 3 or 4 months and when i start it's normally very light and only 2 or 3 days. So this is really wacky for me. -

I got mine 2 days before surgery!!! Talk about ugh! Good thing was when it was finally over (it did last over a week not typical for me) I woke up one day and was down 5 extra lbs!! That gives me hope! I gained half a pound this morning and was so let down. Mine was 2 days after and I'm still on it 9 days later. So frustrating. Maybe I'll drop a bit once mine is over too! -
I just had my surgery done this way 10 days ago. I had to travel to dallas texas. I went through the Nicholson clinic. My bmi was 33.4 when I started. Since starting my preop diet I have now lost over 30lbs! They billed my insurance for the hernia repair and I paid out of pocket for the sleeve itself. How much you pay is largely based on your insurance. All total for the sleeve and hernia repair I came out of pocket about $5k.

EXACTLY! I am now 10 days as well! I didn't expect to struggle with this. I'm not alone!

I'm sticking to my post op diet. I just mean that the pain of surgery is gone and sometimes I forget I've had it done. I've had my old stomach for many years. My new one has only been here for less than 2 weeks and I forget. I've recovered extremely fast. I'm back to everything I was going before with no issues. So I forget.

I was sleeved 2/23 and am down 10lbs as of yesterday. Anyone else get their period soon after? I got mine 2 days after surgery and I think im bloated. Eek. -
I've been feeling more and more cold ever since the pre op diet. It's strange.
-
That's awesome! I'm at 10lbs and holding. I think im bloated from my period.
-
I do this too and realize right before I swallow that my stomach will probably end up regurgitating it. So I sit most of it out.

Blended Soups. @@Dub it's not intentional. I just keep forgetting that I have my new tiny tummy and I'm supposed to just be on liquids. I have managed to catch myself everytime, but I forget that I can't eat something. Last night I cooked dinner for the family and as I was making their plates a small bit fell onto my finger and I had it at my mouth before I realized what I was doing! I don't want to break my post op diet. I definitely don't want to have my tummy rip or the pain associated with eating something I shouldnt. But I'm not sure how to make myself remember? I don't have any pain anymore so I don't have that as a reminder.

I am lower bmi. I started around 34 BMI. As of this morning I am down to 30.4. I am now 10lbs down. 194lbs. So my recovery has been quick. Over the last week I've made 4 trips to the store, and had an outing with the family. I even walked around the neighborhood while my kids rode bikes yesterday. I'm still not getting enough fluids in. I'm working on that. But I'm pretty much back to normal. I have 0 pain aside from some random shoulder pain, it typically goes away fairly quickly. I'm not allowed Jello yet. But yesterday was my last day on the clear liquid diet. I am now allowed to have Clear liquids and soups that have been pureed and thinned with broth as well as protien drinks. I have 2 more weeks until I get to full puree/soft foods. Today my goal is to get in 40oz of diet Powerade along with my soups and popsicles.

I've been off pain meds since thursday. Now I'm struggling with remembering that I've had this surgery. I almost ate a bite of sloppy Joe when I cooked for the family tonight. At the last minute it hit me that I couldn't eat it :/

I'm still hovering around 40oz. I need to get on the ball.

I'm so excited! I'm on full clears for 1 week. Blended liquids for 2 weeks. Then soft foods for 3 weeks. Which means tomorrow I can have (very thin) blended soups

Bad back pain and right side pain
JapGirl replied to Rox50's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No. I had the sleeve but back and shoulder pain is very common from the gas. And the pain on the side of the stomach is common as well -
As of this morning I'm down 8lbs from surgery. I weighed in at 196 this morning. I'm in nashville tennessee. I don't go back to work until monday. I'm enjoying the time off. im being cross trained for a different department when I go back. And honestly I don't want to work in that department so I'm dreading going back. :/

Bad back pain and right side pain
JapGirl replied to Rox50's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same. I believe that incision is where they remove the stomach and has the most trauma. My surgery was 2/23 and it's starting to subside now. But I'm low bmi and healing quite fast. Give it time. -
I'm in middle tn

I got out and walked. Another thing that helps is when you start to feel the pain come on, take the deepest breath you can and hold it. Eventually the pain start to recede. Mine was quite large too so I've been wondering the same
