Congrats on th weight loss... Can you share a typical days food menu?

Hi all I was banded back on 12/2005. I weight 323 lbs. Got down to 267 lbs. My meal plan was on target and my workouts were spot on. I worked out in the morning and my work hours were 2x10 pm. When i started working days my meal plan went out the window and no more workouts. I regained all my weight. My doctor is no longer workibg in my insurance network so now i have to figure something out but during this time like to work on my menu. If you have a menu that is working for you please share and thanks. Jo

Hello I had my Lapband done in Dec 2005 at NCMC ( Dr. Johnell Office)... I was doing pretty good... fr 323 to 267 lbs... I had a good diet going and was working out daily. When my hours at work change ( was from 2PM x 10 PM to 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) seem like my diet ended and I stopped working out. I since then regain my weight....DR. Johnell no Longer has his practice with Banner Health. Now my problem is I have my insurance with Banner Health, so I am looking for others that have the same insurance as I like to get back into a doctors office for fills and follow ups. If you work for banner health and are getting fills from another provider please contact me. Thanks Joe

I switch schedules as well....shiftworker for 20+ years now. 5am start times (when I'm on days) make for a short morning workout for me, so I get the changing schedule thing, BUT I could find other excuses. You just gotta do whats most important to you..... If I'm "watching what I eat": Breakfast = I will usually have a home made Protein shake/smoothie. I use One scoop of my favorite protein powder (25 grams), a combo of some of the following, half a bananna/blueberries/granola/strawberries/peanut butter, some almond milk, crushed ice in the Ninja. Keeps me satisfied until lunch. Lunch = some protein like baked/broiled fish, tuna salad, chicken salad, turkey breast, and usually some veggie. Broccoli, green Beans, etc. OR some home made soup...I love my home cooked lentil soup with smoked jowl pieces, or chili. dinner = maybe some more grilled/baked fish, rotisserie chicken, slow cooker pork roast occasionally, usually a starch of some sort. I CAN eat just about anything...pizza, Pasta, rice, fried foods, Cookies, cake, you name it. There's only a very few things that are "off limits" to my band restriction level. My band helps restrict the volume I eat. I HAVE TO CHOOSE to limit how often I have them..... I agree completely with the idea you really need to get in to have your band checked as soon as is possible. Maybe an adjustment will get you back on track. For me...a properly adjusted band makes all the difference in the world. Best wishes! Thanks for the advice...... Joe

Hello all My name is Joe and I have had the lap-band for several years... I did well at one point went from 320 to 267 lbs .... I have not been successful due to not getting my fills. As a matter of fact have not been to the Dr's Office for 2 years and I have regain all of my weight and plus a few lbs.. I like to find someone that can sure there menu> I think for me is menu planning.... Since the weather is getting better I will be out and will start with a walking plan so if u can help out starting with a menu I would appreciate it.......I am located in Sterling, Colorado......joe

Well today ( 11/11/09 ) I made it to the doctors office... I weighted in @ 345 so I had to reset my ticker.. It came out 5 lbs over so I will call my start date today. My blood pressure was good, no issues there. I took a look at my chart and my last visit was on 8/5/08 my weight then 287.7 lbs.. Man that hit me.. I could not believe I let myself go that way! I saw a New PA and she was cool. I told her my issue and she said thats ok, time to start over a new beginning. I thought that was nice of what she said with a 57 lbs weight gain.. After a brief discussion she began to feel for my port but could not find it. She went to get the other PA ( who I have seen before ) and after he saw my chart you would think he would say glad to see you here, instead he says" what happen " I said long story.. That was a turn off... anyway I think she will be my contact person there from now on....They found the port and recovered only 6 cc of fluid. My last visit he got it up to 9.cc, so it was a little concerning about the 3. 5 cc disappearance. He said hopefully it just demish, but was concern that just maybe I would have a leak. I now have 7cc in my lapband.. I have another appt on 12/2/09 and they will check to see how many CC I have then. I will also attend an aftercare/support class... On is Bariatric essentials ( basically a refresher on what to eat/ how much/etc) and the other is Emotional Eating.. This will be all done on the same day since the doctors office is 1.5 hrs from where I live.. Hope to lose 6 lbs bt next visit! __________________

Hi All I have been at this since 12/2005..... and have regained all my weight. So in 2013 I plan to restart again I will make an appt to my Doc for a fill. Have not been back for over a year.... I need to work on a menu so would like to hear from those that are doing well what is your typical menu for the day like? Joe

Thanks everyone for your support... I started the day off pretty good until dinner time where we went to meet the wife sister at a local pizza place, Not very good... They talked about christams eve and christmas day dinner. Then the job... monday Dec 24 co-workers want everyone to bring in food..... food/food/food kinda hate this time of year ( Food part) I did weight in the AM at 315 which was good.

Well its been a while and I am back and starting again: Had the lapband done back in 12/2005. Weight was at 320 lbs. I was doing very well. Working out everyday and watching what I was eating. Got down to 268 lbs 4-17-06. Over the years just let myself go. Just got back from NYC visiting my family. All I can say I need to do this. Need to get down to 250 lbs. My goal is 200 lbs. Today I weighted in at 315 lbs.... suks... Need to make an appt to get my band tighten! Preview Highest weight: 11/12/04-@ 362 lbs Band date/weight= Dec 13, 05/ 320 lbs Lowest weight: 268 lbs- 4/17/06 11-11-09 345 lbs ( First DR visit since 8/5/08) ------------------------------------------------------------------- Restart: 6-19-2012 @ 315 Lbs

Well its only been a few days since statring over and coming back from vacation -down 4 lbs. Fridays will be my offical weight in. Would like to get to 309 for next Friday.
