  1. no offence but the doctor is not going to fill your band if you say food is getting stuck, but its suppose to get stuck that's what makes the band work. they are not going to tell you this, but: if you want to be successful the band needs to be tight, your should only be able to eat about the size of a hard boiled egg at sitting, then you should be full for a few hours. only liquids should go down without a problem when slowly sipped. no eating and drinking at the same time.
  2. i would get that too. i think it is actually the lap-band or stomach pressure pain from the band that is traveling to the nerve ending in your chest or shoulder, i had it after my surgery. i thought it was gas pains at first, but after having the band for over 10 years. i have had the pain come back from time to time anytime i aggravated my lap-band. so i am pretty sure it is linked. that being said. i would always have any pain check by a doctor just to sure its not something else.
  3. i noticed this too, i think the reason is that you are usually sipping the liquid continuously over a period of time, so it is slowly lubricating the lap band opening, this would happen if you sipped any cold liquid. hot liquids like hot coffee won't have the same effect, but iced coffee will. i think the heat makes the band expand ( making it tighter) cold makes it contract( making it looser). hope that answers your question. i have had the band for 10+ years
