I had my sleeve October 2015, and my hair has thinned a lot. In fact, it's still falling out, but it has slowed considerably. My doctor and nutritionist have both assured me that it's normal and my hair will come back. I don't have bald Patches, but my hair is very thin. I think it's more noticeable to me than it is to everyone else. I don't think it has anything to do with low Protein because I get more than enough protein every day, and the hair thinning still occurred.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't know if this has been asked before, but I'm just about 4 weeks post sleeve surgery, and I've been freezing since I got home from the hospital. I find that I need to be about 5-10 degrees warmer than I was before my surgery. Is anyone else experiencing this strange phenomenon? Am I missing some nutrient -- is that why I'm so cold all the time? Thanks!! -
My problem is just the opposite. Mine isn't late, it just won't stop! I was (I thought) in perimenopause. I had 2-3 periods in the last two years. (It was kinda nice!!) But after being on an all-liquid diet for two weeks before my surgery, I started my period two days before. I've been having my period ever since!! That's almost a month!! I'm hoping it stops soon..... I'm kinda sick of it! Is this happening to anyone else?

I know how you feel! My sister-in-law had bypass, and she was on mushy food a lot sooner than I was, and she's also not continuing with shakes like I am (I had the sleeve). But you need to follow the diet that was given to you for your surgery. It sucks. It's hard. And yes, for a few days after my surgery (October 14), I was pissed I couldn't eat more than I was allowed to. But you know what? I feel great!! I've lost 32 pounds in three weeks. I don't have the gas pains any more. Trust that your doctor knows what's right for you. It's hard not to compare yourself to other people who have had similar surgeries, but you and your surgery are unique. And keep coming here to complain and get help and support. We ALL need that!! -
