my surgery is tomorrow morning

Hello, my surgery date is May 25, 2016 pending insurance approval. I was wondering what kind of testing is done during the pre op appointment? My surgeon says that I don't need to have an EKG or anything done so I'm curious what are other surgeons requirements. Thx in advance

for me, it was seeing myself on video interacting with others..I almost didn't recognize myself. I kept thinking, is this how I walk? breath? look? every year I've been growing more and more uncomfortable in my body. I remember in 2010 going to the doctor and joking with the nurse that I was a taco or two from being 200 pounds. (I'm 4'11 & I was 175 then. I'm 221 pounds now) I'd tried to lose weight on my own, I've tried every diet under the sun..even went vegan for 6 months...lost weight but it was little and it came back with a vengeance. I was so desperate, my joints ached, I was on medication and the symptoms for PCOS were relentless. I had actually googled how to be successful at bullemia and when I did an ad popped up for my local bariatric surgeons office..I clicked the link and started the process. It's the tool that I need. I've spent the last 8 months educating myself and preparing for a huge lifestyle change. My pre op diet begins in 3 wks.

I'm looking for inspiration today I'm 4'11 (pre op RNY scheduled for May 2016) and looking for other women who are no taller than 5'3ish to share their weight loss stories and/or progress/before and after pics. Hi. It's been a very long time since this thread was active how have things been with the LPR? I'm pre op for bariatric surgery and Im leaning towards RNY to help with the LPR symptoms that I experience. Please give us an update. Thx so much!

I'm 33 and my BMI is 45. I'm pre diabetic and insulin resistant. I've done a sleep study, psych exam, fitness evaluation and I will be seeing the nutritionist for the 6th time next week.

I know right! That was my theory also. I really thought that I should be doing more. I'm not a revision patient.

It's been a while since this post. How are you ladies feeling now? I hope better. I ask because I am having RNY, hernia repair and gallbladder removal surgery in May 2016. I want to know how long I should estimate a recovery time and if I will be back to "normal" thx for sharing

It's not really the surgeon that I am concerned about, it's the insurance company denying me
