I have my family vacation coming up the week of August 8th, surgery is set for June 1st (excited & anxious). The vacation is an all inclusive resort in DR. I don't want to eat like I have in the past & I'm actually happy I won't. I just want to know if I'll be able to eat anything? My vacation is much more than eating of course ( I may actually be able to zipline for the first time) but I do want to enjoy a few bites of food. What is it like 2 months post op? Will I be ok on vacation? Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

I'm still checking around for a place. If not I'm okay with the fact I'll have to wait. Thank you all for the suggestions & encouragement. Sometimes you feel like you're the only one who had last minute setbacks but it's good to see others have & others have overcome them. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

So surgery is set for June 1st. Had all my preop tests done on Friday. Got clearance from my PCP & a pulmonologist I had to find at the last minute (because I don't go to one nor has my surgeon mentioned one until last week). Now I get an email asking if I did my upper endoscopy - no I didn't. More than likely forgot all about it didn't know it was necessary. Well if I don't get that done before the 1st then my surgery will be rescheduled a few months from now!! I'll admit I honestly didn't remember about it but noone reminded 3 weeks ago when I was in the office for my preop appointment?! So now if it can't be done (not looking good right now) I have to rearrange alot & go thru this crap all over again. Don't know what to do...just frustrated Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

When should I be able to go back to work?
lcarter1227 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is June 1st. I just got notice from my job that we are having a meeting in Orlando from June 5th - 7th, I live in NJ. When did everyone go back to work? I have an office job and sit at a desk all day. Also, will I be able to fly so soon after surgery? -
I was approved for my surgery a few weeks ago and my date is June 1st. How much contact have you had with your surgeon before surgery? Did anyone from the office contact you with detailed info about the surgery? Am I just expecting something too much too early?

When should I be able to go back to work?

Thanks all! I think I was most upset I would be missing my free trip to Orlando but I'd take this life change over the trip -
So today I finally met my surgeon to begin the process for having my surgery. Everything we went over was fine, I qualify because of BMI over 40 & hypertension. My insurance will cover 100% after deductible after my NUT meetings. Only problem is I need my PCP to approve my surgery. Well...I don't have a PCP. Last physical I got was over a year ago but that dr isn't covered by my insurance and there's no other dr I have seen for years. So am I the only one that has done this? I hated going to the dr because all I heard was "you need to lose weight and work on your blood pressure" but now I'm worried I won't be able to get approved for surgery. Any thoughts? Guidance? Anything? PS. Many years ago there was a DR who would give anyone a prescription or DRs note when I was in high school...he's nowhere to be found now.
