. So you are still on liquids? Yes my doctor does clear for 1 week, full liquids for 1 week, puréed food for 1 week, then solids. I am feeling better every day!!
-
Sleeved 11/9. Feeling so much better. I felt like I turned a corner this Tuesday. Pretty jealous of eating chicken. I get to puree food next week and then REAL food the next. Excited to be on this journey and glad there are others with me!

Today was a much better day!! Hoping I turned a corner.

Anyone that has had surgery within a week?
all4him replied to Glogyal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was 11/9. -
My surgery was 11/9. It was a rough first week. I appreciate your honesty! I don't know if anyone could have prepared me. I haven't had it as hard as many do, but I just want to feel semi-normal again. Today was my first day back at my desk job and it was so hard. I am usually so tough and have a high pain tolerance...not this trip. Did realize that jacking up my back the first night home was a huge set back. I was taking pain meds for my back and slept way too much and didn't walk enough. Been drinking decaf for a long time and poured out 3/4 of my morning cup of coffee at 4:30 this afternoon. Depressing. I know this will pass, but I just want to chew something other than a bioten gummy.

I don't have anything in my paperwork. Seen several things on the forums. The pain meds work against you in that Dept. I would call ask because some of the laxatives etc are hard on your stomach. I think the protein shake had the opposite reaction on me. :/ But IDK...
-
I would definitely call your surgeon. May just be several things happening, better safe than sorry. Praying for you!! Keep in touch!!

I was supposed to do a full week in clear liquids, but I have had a couple of protein shakes and some yummy tomato soup. The protein is not my sleeve's friend yet. Lots of broth and room temp water.

Wondering how all the 11/9's are doing???
-
Mine was Monday 11/9. Came home Wednesday instead of Tuesday due to excessive pain when I tried to drink. Been wandering around the house for 2 days wishing I could have some soup other than broth. I did manage a whole protein shake earlier today. Just ready for time to pass. Back to work Monday. I have to get out soon to buy a scale!

How are you doing now?? -
Had surgery on Monday. Released today. I feel horrible and my temp just keeps climbing. When should I be alarmed?

How are you doing?

Surgery was 11/9. Had a lot of pain the second day so they kept me. I hit the pain pump and slept a lot. Home the third day and home alone the 4th. So far so good. Pretty much sick of clear liquids. Did manage to finish a large cup of decaf, a full glass of flavored water and a full cup of beef base so far today.
-
Surgery was 11/9. My surgeon gave me 2 sets of post-op instructions. One says clear liquids only for 7 days. The other says first 2 weeks liquid or puréed foods. I added a scoop of unflavored protein mix to some flavored water and handled it very well. Sure would like something other than broth and flavored water. What did you guys do the first 7 days?. .

How are you doing??? -
It's been a rough couple of days. The pain was actually worse yesterday than surgery day on Monday. I have a high pain tolerance (one at least I thought I did). I just kept hitting the pain pump and slept as much as I could. Today is much better. I can sip without pain. Thanks for asking!
-
Try drinking more Water to help with the headache. I used to fast "back in the day" and the extra water usually helped. Have you stopped drinking caffeine? That can give you a terrible migraine! I'm on day 2, because I didn't get the letter telling me to start until Monday. I am just ready to get this over with. Feel so bad for those that have had to go through the rigorous process of dealing with insurance. Gotta be rough. How are you doing @@queencity??
-
I pray that I have those same results. I'm a size 16 now and surgery is 11/9.

November 10th Surgery Date!

I am also low BMI (36 and 5'2") and I understand your struggles. I'm scheduled for the sleeve 11/9 and getting scared but know that this is what I must do. Lord knows I have tried every thing else. Most people look at me and say your not fat! Yes.I.am! I am obese and feel like crap most days. I would love to keep in touch. -
I wish I would have found out about the clinic in Dallas sooner. Probably would have saved me a bunch of cash!! Good luck with your journey!

@@Runner1 27 pounds is awesome in just over 3 weeks! I am finding that low BMI patients have issues that others don't. I thank God that they will do surgery at +35 BMI. I can't handle getting any heavier. I personally know 2 low BMIers that were sleeved a few years ago and are doing great. What scares me is that I keep hearing don't eat that and exercise. Well heck, if I could do that I wouldn't be here!! You are definitely not alone.
