Vancomycin for C difficile
Crochet Queen replied to GinaCampbell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They may discuss a fecal implant with you. That may be your best option. I'm suffering again for the second time with Vertigo, so annoying. Back on steroids. It's like never ending. I know you know what I mean! -

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App I did. They insist on it. And they won't re test for c diff while I am there either. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App how are you doing Gina? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
Thanks Jenna, I actually have a gym membership I want to start using! Kristens words are very encouraging, and she made a good point. We started at a lower BMI than most so our weight loss will not be as quick or significant. At the end of the day down 42 pounds I feel like a different person! I'm wearing clothes I have not worn in years. And it's nice to hear the comments from people about how amazing I look.

I am right there with you, 5 months post op, starting weight 220, I hover around 176-178, my weight loss has been very slow the last 3 months. I do feel like I could be eating a bit better than I am so I am going to try to switch up my diet a bit and I also have not exercised at all so looking to add that and see if it makes a difference. I do believe the stall is normal and I dont think we will stay at this weight. I want to lose 28 more lbs!

Vancomycin for C difficile
Crochet Queen replied to GinaCampbell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes. I took it and it worked. My husband has also taken it twice and it also worked for him. Take the entire dose. Sometimes symptoms get worse before they get better. Hang in there! -
Yes in fact I've been losing it since month three I have lost so much hair and it is still coming out I am beside myself. My surgery was April 23. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

In America, legal action would get you what you want. Don't know about NHS in England. I tend to expect the worse from the government...Now that I have Clostridium Difficile, and may have infected my family, I am re thinking my stance regarding legal action. If this drags on for months or if I wind up with even more serious problems such as bowel surgery, I may have no choice but to look into this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Omg I had c diff for 3 weeks. Finally tested negative today!!Had c-diff also. Caused by the numerous antibiotics to treat the sepsis. If this was my biggest problem I would have been thrilled!!Oh no! Me also. Or I picked it up in hospital. In week two of 1200 mg a day of metronidazole. Still having symptoms, so much cramping and pain. How long did it take to clear yours? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App just a few weeks time Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I forgot to comment on my health now I'm three months post surgery and I'm still dealing with some issues and have been on and off steroids a few times to reduce inflammation, also wound up with vertigo a few months ago. I am not 100% but I am doing so much better. My newest upset is the amount of hair I'm losing!!
-
Thank you very much for your kind words! I just read your story and it is just simply unbelievable! I also wound up with C diff while in the hospital as well among many other things like pleural effusion, fluid around my spleen etc. The surgeon repaired the tear in my stomach and the sleeve was completely intact so I didn't need to have the actual surgery for the sleeve. He also had to do a full wash out because of the septic shock.
-
I regret it. I had Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty which was supposed to be noninvasive because they go through endoscopically. So it's not truly considered surgery. They put sutures in your stomach to make it in the shape of the sleeve so there's no cutting. I knew five people who had this procedure before me with excellent results and no complications. My stomach was perforated. The doctors tried to repair the perforation themselves. These doctors are not surgeons they were gastroenterologists. Too much time passed before a surgeon was called in as I lay there becoming septic. I have very few memories of that time as I was in incredible pain and doped up on pain meds. By the time the surgeon got to me I was in septic shock. I was hospitalized for two weeks and just discharged myself after this time. Three months and I am still not 100%. I see a therapist on a regular basis for PTSD And severe anxiety. Have I lost weight, absolutely. But I still regret doing this. I put myself and my family through a lot. Something happens to you when you are faced with a near death situation and all I do is blame myself for something elective that I did not need! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Should I be worried?

I believe most NUT's including mine do not want you to re-introduce carbs until week 6. I must have read my instructions a million times and I keep reading.
