She sounds so mean! I would try your OB/GYN. Mine said if I had any problems with my PCP he would do whatever I needed. Good luck!

does your brain feel fuzzy?
caramia71 replied to caramia71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to my post op doctor's appointment on Monday and I was taking that nausea medicine religously every 6 hours. Dr. Singh said it wasn't necessary and I stopped and immediately the fog lifted! I am so glad! -
I'm about 12 days post op and my head still feels a little foggy. I have a hard time concentrating. Does anyone else experience this? Is it normal?

Week 3 post-op... can I have scrambled eggs?
caramia71 replied to ponytail's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Scrambled eggs is on my pureed food list for week 3 and 4. I would say yes but you might want to check with your doctor or dietician. -
Chicken Salad???
caramia71 replied to StarbuxQueen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband grills chicken breast for me then takes my food choopper from Pampered Chef and chops it up. I then mix light mayo with it and voila a mushy chicken salad. I am not sure I would call it pureed but it goes down well and the taste is yummy. I have to fight the rest of the family for it. -
What are your favorite sweeteners? I am looking for one for iced tea and hot coffees. Need something that doesn't taste bitter - like the real thing but not.

Would It Kill Me....
caramia71 replied to wickman2617's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would never advise you to move on without talking to someone on your team. However, I was advised to talk to the dietician.....she was out for the next 5 days. Then the surgeon wanted to push my follow up back a week and the office was saying one thing. So I added a scrambled egg at dinner time since this was my hardest. It was on my next phase list of foods to eat and I lived to tell abou it. If I could have gotten some cooperation from my "team" I would have talked it over with them first. No one was available and it was frustrating. I feel so much better physically too. -
does your brain feel fuzzy?

I stopped taking pain medicine during the day and only took it a few times at night with the last time being several days ago. I think the pain meds make it worse. I'm not having any pain or gas pain -

I am about a week post op and let me tell you, this liquid diet is killing me. I know why you need to be on liquids for 2 weeks post op and then move to mushies, I get it. I am an intelligent adult. But why does it vary from doctor to doctor? Has anyone cheated and lived to tell?
-
And by cheat, I mean move to the mushies phase while on the liquid phase etc.?

Good morning. I was banded on 3/26 and am having difficulty trying to find a comfortable spot to sleep in. I am normally a stomach sleeper but can sleep on my side. Can't do either. Will this pass? Will I never be able to sleep on my stomach again? Any suggestions? Thanks, Carol

I know I'm not that far out from surgery (the 26th) but this liquid diet thing is getting old. I know I'm not really hungry but I really just want some actual food. I spoke to the nutrionist today and she said it was very important I follow the liquid diet. I know, but come on, 2 weeks? They're killing me. I would give anything to have mushies. I did sneak cheese today but I feel so guilty. Anyone else struggling with this phase? I know when I get to the mushies I'll be moaning for actual food. Just needed to vent - thanks for listening!!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments and laughs! I'm feeling much better today and realizing that in the grand scheme of things this is a relatively small sliver and I can deal with it!!

That is so awesome!! Congrats! -
Hello all! I am getting banded on Wednesday, March 26th. Everyone asks if I'm nervous and maybe I"m crazy but I'm not. I've read a lot of things on this board but I feel it will all be worth it. I look at this process as beginning a new life. The only thing I'm worried about is what eating will be like after the surgery. But I think I can deal with that. If anyone else is getting banded this week and would like to chat just e-mail me. Carol

Hi! I"m from MD (northern area, near the PA line) and dealt with BC/BS. My surgery date is March 26th. It is so exciting that I don't think I have time to focus on being nervous. Best of luck to you!! :wink2:

Hello everyone! I finally have a surgery date for March 26, 2008!! Yippee!! I have a few questions: I sleep on my stomach, will this be a problem with my port? Anyone else tan? Wondering if I will have to stop for a while after my surgery? I'm excited and nervous and glad to be finally moving forward!! Thanks for any input. Carol

After Surgery Question - Excess Skin and Port
caramia71 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going for my consult in 2 weeks and am curious to find more information about the excess skin and port. Is there anyone who didn't need surgery to remove excess skin? I have about 100 pounds to lose and am worried that even if I lose it I'll still need surgery to remove the skin. And the port....how much restriction does that put on your daily living? Anything that you can't do that you could do before? My husband is a little freaked out about that. Thanks for any and all input! Carol
