Keep going. You are doing great. I go to the Doc today and they said they would probably advance to Puree today. Never thought i would be excited to eat baby food.

Had the surgery on the 26th. It went very well. The pain was and is what was expected and is very tolerable. Today, i am having very little pain. Thanks to all for the advice to get up and walk early and often. I have done quite a bit of walking and i think that has made the difference. Doing the clear liquids. My hunger so far is non existant. That having been said, i look forwrd to the puree stage. Would be nice the get a little substance.

    Surgery on October 26

Hi everybody. Well, I am 3 hours and 23 minutes (but who is counting) into my 48 hour clear liquid pre surgery diet. I am scheduled for 7:00 am on Monday. While i am sure the nerves will return, I am strangely calm this morning. I am ready for the journey and the new me. I made a real quick list of things I will not miss when I drop some of my tonnage. Here you go 1. That "look" I get from my new seat mate when I am shuffling to my seat in a theatre, sporting event, or airplane 2. Being out of breath after going through the ordeal of being able to reach my feet to put my socks on in the morning. 3. That feeling of panic, when I drop something in public and have find a way to bend over and pick it up gracefully. 4. The feeling of embarrassment when someone my age or older takes pity and reaches over and picks it up for me. 5. Being worn out after a short walk from my car to the office building. 6. Going to a clothing store and seeing that my choice is limited one black and one brown pair of stretch waist slacks because they are the only ones that fit. 7. Having to choose my seat in a restaurant based on whether i can fit in comfortably or not (booths can be a killer.) 8. My c-pap machine. 9. Making jokes about myself and my weight to feign comfort in my size. 10. Conversations with doctors that begin with "well, because of your size...." That is all for now, like most of us, I could come up with a hundred more. What are some of the things you folks will not miss..

    Surgery on Oct. 15

I decided to wait until after the surgery to tell my extended family. That way they can avoid the worrying stage and just be mad at me for not telling them in advance.
  6. I am scheduled for the 26th. Apprehensive but hopeful. I went through 18 months of soul searching and now i am fully commited. Hope all you other October Sleevers have had or will have all the success in the world. See you on the Boards.
