You may be right about that too. I am having a terrible time eating anything right now. It seems like everthing I eat comes right back up. As a result I am drinking more liquids and eating less. Splck60

Hi Karen, My name is Karen also. I have been told not to drink anything 20 minutes before a meal and 1 hour after a meal. Liquids are filling. In order to stay and feel full after a meal you should not drink anything 1 hour afterwards. However, I find it difficult to eat and not sip once in a while to rinse or wash some to the food down.

Hi everyone, I had my lap band surgery on March 28 and I will going in for the first time tomorrow to see my surgeon. It has taken me awhile to get in to see him. Due to insurance reasons. I started at 197 as of the middle of January and I am currently 174.5. Spclk60 Manteca, CA

Hi, I am 60 yrs. old and going to have my surgery on March 28. I live in Manteca, Ca. Does anyone live in the bay area? I have many mixed feelings at this point. I am going to need a lot of support. Hope to talk with many of you in the near future. I would like to know the pros and cons many of you have had and what I should look for as far as physical and mental issues and I will need some ideas on meals in the coming weeks. As soon as I am able I will be back on line to talk with all of you. Spclk60

I am going through the process now for my surgery. I will be seeing the Psychologist on March 4 and the Dietician on March 13. I have an appointment for the Pre Op on March 5 2008. My insurance runs out on March 30 so I am trying to rush the process. I will have a new insurance on April 1 and don't know if they will cover the lap band susrgery. I certainly don't want to go through the process again for the new insurance company. I live in Manteca, CA a would like to hear from you again so that I can follow your progress. Maybe we can compare and give each other ideas or recommendations to help each other out.

I went to my Seminar last week, Feb. 6. The difficult time for me is now. Waiting to hear from the doctor's office to call and schedule an appointment for the consultation. Did anyone find that difficult for them? According to the information in my packet, the phone call should come any day soon. They tell you one week. I don't want to leave the house just in case that call comes in. I seem to have a lot of thoughts going through my head. The antisapation is killing me. Spclk47

Please get back to me and let me know how your first fill goes. I am so interested right now in the step by step process of the lap band surgery. I sure hope that my insurance company approves me for this surgery. I have run out of options. I fell so tired and have so many aches and pains. Sincerely, spclk60

To All who have responded to my correspondence. I am happy to have all of you to speak to and get your views and updates on your surgeries. I have my seminar on Feb. 6, and then I should hear from the doctor a week after that. I know I will be getting back to you. Best of luck to all of you and thank you so much for your support. Now, everthing is just a wait and see. Spclk60

Hi to all, I am 60 years old and as all of you I want to have a better quality of life. My name is Karen. I live in Manteca. CA. I have been rejected by one insurance company. (Health Net) I now have Blue Shield a PPO and want to know if anyone else has this insurance and has had any problems with getting approval for lap band surgery. I have to go through the process of qualifying all over again due to the change in my insurance. I hope all goes well. My insurance will change again in May due to my husbands employement. Any suggestions in helping me qualify would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your reply. It is so comforting. I have not tried my age group yet. But thanks for the suggestion. I am so happy that things are going good for you. My daughter had the gastric bypass. So I do know a little about the gastric sugeries. Did you have a problem with the liquids only for the first week, or two? Have you lost any weight as of today? Hope your excerise program goes well for you. I have scheduled an appointment for the seminar on Feb. 6. After that I will be able to see the specialist. I have a feeling that my insurance will reject me. I need to give some good reasons to the specialist as to why I want this surgery. All I can think of is health reasons. Did you have to do this? Thanks Again, spclk60

Hi S, Good luck to you. I'm sure you are much younger than I am. So I believe I am more of a risk for the surgery. I have many concerns. Please keep me informed as to how you are doing. All the pros and cons. Best of luck to you again. spclk60:biggrin:

Is it painful to have these adjustments? I have just been turned down by one insurance company, I am now going to apply with our new insurance company. This process takes so long that is discouraging. spclk60
