Ya my INS had an exclusion... i ended up fiancing it... i got a loan from BofA... its only $250 a month... so i think of it as a car payment... but forking out 18,000 hurt.... its gonna be so worth it in the end ... im only 4 days post op :eek:

Do a liquid diet... i lost 4 lbs in my first day on a liquid diet... it sucks... but works!!

Im 4 days post op and im sooooooooo weak too.. im not allowed to have yogurt... Im on a 59 calorie a day diet... just 3 tablespoons of protien drink, broth,jello... i get that 3 times a day... for 7 days... I wish i could have yogurt... i feel awful!! My incisions feel GREATTT!! I just wish i did!

my surgery was 7/18 also and i gained 7ibs.... its slowly droping down now tho... i paid $18,000 for surgery... but im not worried yet :biggrin:

I had my surgery friday at 5pm and i felt fine physically today, my incisions feel great... they have me on a liquid diet like most... im only allowed 59 calories a day for 7 days - Breakfast- 3T - Protein Drink, 3T- Broth, 3T of Jello Lunch- 3T - Protein Drink, 3T- Broth, 3T of Jello Dinner- 3T - Protein Drink, 3T- Broth, 3T of Jello So i have to say i feel really weak... total lack of energy... but my healing is awesome and body feels great... just kind of out of it...

Girl im with you and no beer... its sucks!!!!!!!!!!! But you can still drink... so we will have to work on finding another drink... cuz im sad about no more beer too!!

Does Dr. Teng have you on any diet prior to surgery? Only thing i can think of is if you go out of town prior to surgery it might be hard to do that?

After talking to a few girls im a little worried... they made it sound like they were really hungry the first few weeks after being banded??? How did you feel after you were banded??

Seminar in Jan when i was pregnant- Had my baby May 29th 2008 waited a few weeks and made my consult appt... July 2-Consult w/Dr. Teng July 3- Psych eval July 8th- Upper GI July 10th- Met with Nutritionist & Echo July 18th- Surgery I am "self pay"

I had mine out last year.. and im having surgery on friday.... there is going to be no problem at all...

I had my gallbladder out in Feb 07 and i have NO problem with any food.. and i eat all the foods you mentioned... i havent had a problem with any food since day 1....i dont eat much take out... i hear that will bother you cuz you lost your fat strainer... And im having Lap Band done on friday... im only on a low calorie diet for 1 week...

I wonder if it has something to do with what size band the DR places??

Ya im only able to have protien drink,broth,jello during week 1... sounds so yummy!!

I am supposed to be on a liquid diet... Im having surgery on July 18th @ 2:30 pm... so i should be on all liquids @ 2:30 on the 17th?? Or should i start first thing in the morning?? I get so grumpy when im hungry!! haha

YAY im so glad to hear all this... i was really worried!! Thanks for making me feel better... i just hope i dont feel hunger either!!

They told me i didnt need a pre-op diet... and i will be on liquids for a week after surgery but my stomach will be smaller so i will be less hungry right??? I get to move up to different foods the 2nd week... like yogurt, oatmeal and baby food... and week 3-4 i get normal food but it has to be blended in the Magic Bullet.... Are you saying your hungry after surgery?? I thought i read the total opposite??

They didnt tell you exactly what kind to buy?? I was told i had to get a drink called Isopure Zero Carb Drink for week 1 and Resource Optisource High Protein Drink for week 2... They told me exactly how much to drink also...

:confused2: I was told i needed all these Vitamins in liquid form... Multivitamin Calcuim Zinc Vitamin C then the Protein drinks were... Isopure Zero Carb Drink and Optiosource... of all the above the only thing i found in any store was the Isopure... what did your DR tell you that you needed to buy prior to surgery? I see some of you were on chewables.. but i was told that i needed LIQUID???
