    How much is too much?

I'm 6 weeks post VSG and down 30lbs (80lb since the beginning of the year). I'm currently weighing about 215 lbs and am wearing waist size 30 to 32. I know I've lost a lot of muscle which I worked very hard to build before surgery. I was prepared for this. I think I need to slow down the weight loss. I am diligent about Protein intake, BCAAs, and nutrition. I'm on TRT, HCG and Clomid. I work with a personal trainer on strength training. Has any other guy on here dealt with this so soon after surgery? If so, how did you handle it? I never imagined wearing anything less than a 32 waist. I'm not complaining or gloating. I'm genuinely concerned about becoming too thin. I feel great and have lots of energy. I have no regrets.

What have I done to myself?

Try just adding a few more ounces of Water. Dehydration can fuel stalls and cause ortho static hypotension (dizzy spells). Sent from my SM-T357T using Tapatalk

I'm just over a month out and am in a size 32-33. That's where I want to be.

Guy's Room - Calorie target 9 months out?

Benefiber is tasteless. I mix it in my Clear Isopure, coffee, water, Powerade, yogurt, just about anything. I also take docusate every day as a stool softener to avoid straining and the side effects that come with that.

Thanks for the insight. Great info! 2 months out here.
  9. Also a good call, certainly faster & easier - presumably if you left the tendon in overnight you'd get a similar protein assay as with the full bone broth of the homemade stuff.I would scope out different phone places and find the best broths. They really do vary. They are so comforting, they keep well and they are satifying. Bone broth is magical if you're familiar with the preparation. Pho varieties also offer chicken, beef and vegetarian broths for variety. If you reheat, you can stir in an egg and add some extra protein. Sent from my SM-T357T using Tapatalk

  11. How'd it go? My surgery was last of Oct so I'm looking at going back around Christmas. And you're right about the time of year, I thought the same thing. I'm a big sweater in the summertime. Would be easier to get dehydrated then.I just had my first shift back last night and I did great! It'll take some conditioning, but I think I'll be fine. Sent from my SM-T357T using Tapatalk
  12. I would order pho with tendon and let the tendon sit in the broth over night. The tendon contains a lot of protein. Your stomach can't digest the tendon yet, but it makes great broth with great protein just make sure they leave out the noodles! Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
  13. I would pretty much fast during my 12 hour shifts except for water. That has to change now, after surgery. I'll just add more water and boost protein. I take Adderall for wakefulness and that also acts as an appetite suppressant so I sometimes have to embeber l remember to eat. My partner usually takes care of that part though. Lol
  14. Looks like we're sleeve brothers. I just got my clearance email yesterday. I guess my first official shift will be Monday. Austin, Texas here. I hope you're well! Stay in touch!

  16. Thanks. When was your surgery? I'm trying to preplan with water and Premier Protein shakes. I typically work two busy 12s and one slow 24. We'll see how it goes. At least it's not summertime!
  17. I'm a paramedic. I had my VSG on 10/14. I am cleared to go back tomorrow. That's a month. I could've returned earlier, but I work for a very busy system and I needed to be sure I was 100%. We don't get much time to eat some days and I wanted to be able to have some flexibility in food choices. I think my first shift back might be this weekend. Wish me luck.

    Sex... Oh My God... Sex!

How many men have routinely checked their testosterone levels checked throughout their weight loss? I ask because I was on TRT before surgery and have worked with my urologist to helped maintain levels to help me keep the most lean muscle possible. I'm 42 (almost 43) and almost a month post VSG. I include this in this post because of it's inextricable effects on libido and sex life.

Post Op food and diet suggestions?

Cottage cheese, avocado, salmon, baked sweet potato and regular potatoes, Vietnamese pho with tendon is a great (rest your gut)option. Don't eat the tendon. It just adds collagenous protein. Homemade chicken salad made in the food processor until it is smooth and add anything you want for flavor. Be creative!
  21. Hi Jess! Good for you! I started my process in January. It's well worth the effort, the preparation and the wait.
