    Any So Cal Sleevers?

Hi All! I was born and raised in Anaheim, moved to Palm Springs in 2009 but I am back in Anaheim several times a month to restock on Korean/Japanese products. I was sleeved last year - 9/26/15, I am coming up to my 1 year! Before and after attached. Starting weight was 296, currently at 195.

    FREAKING OUT!

Hello everyone! I had Sleeve surgery on 9/26/15, I was 296 lbs and I am currently down to 195.7 lbs. Side by side photo attached! I am starting to notice that I am able to eat more - definitely nowhere near what my portions were prior to surgery but it is still more than what I was able to eat compared to 6-7 months ago. Is this normal?? It is also scary that I am able to tolerate junk foods like popcorn or chips and there are times when I feel like I can eat the entire bag (when I am on my period)! I am also noticing that I start to get hungry every 2-3 hours so I have a small healthy snack in between meals but maybe eating every few hours is not a good thing?? Any feedback or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Ideas for ready made stuff I can buy to eat?

Costco carries Amylu brand chicken sausage and chicken burger patties (I am in Palm Springs, CA) that are really good - I do not like the amount of sodium in them but they have lots of protein and when I am really pressed for time, I will cook these, they easily heat up in pan or in microwave. Another great item from Costco are the Kirkland brand Turkey burger patties. I usually will make mine but there are those days where I get home late so it is nice to have these on hand because there are natural ingredients in them - Turkey, Rosemary Extract and Salt...that is it and they are delicious. Costco also has individual sized packets of hummus, they are perfectly portioned for us and go great with fresh cut veggies.

    Heartburn!

I had my Sleeve surgery on 9/30/15. I am currently eating normal foods but I'm getting heartburn after I eat! Typical small meals are Proteins and veggies, no breads/rice/potatoes type of carbs...before surgery whenever I ate breads/starchy carbs I would get heartburn. My surgeon did have to repair a fairly large hiatal hernia during my surgery. Anyone else have this experience?? Any suggestions??

Things I didn't expect my first month post-op

I had VSG surgery on 9/29/15 so I am only 2 few weeks out and I am super surprised at many things so far: 1. How QUICKLY I bounced back after surgery. Within hours of surgery while in the hospital, I was walking around, getting up to go to the bathroom on my own and I had very little to no pain. Even after being discharged the next day, I never had to take any pain medications. I was expecting the pain to be a lot worse! I went back to work after taking only a week off because I felt great! 2. How easily I forget to eat - I read that feeling hungry goes away after VSG but it still caught me off guard. I do not ever feel hungry or know what I am supposed to be watching out for so I had to start keeping a food diary to track when I am eating. 3. How quickly I was able to transition from liquid stage to full liquid stage to soft/pureed food stage 4. How amazing it feels to wake up without swollen ankles, sore joints and feeling puffy everywhere 5. How LOUD my stomach can grumble and gurgle - quite embarrassing during a meeting! It sounds like a dinosaur!
