I hate protein shakes
heartofthetinman replied to AllyJonesVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
According to many dietitians your body can’t absorb more than 30 G protein at at time so I would suggest dividing anything more than that in four hour increments. -

Unjury makes a chicken soup flavored one I like because I don’t like sweet either. 20 gram protein. -
When does Regret go away?

I had a friend on weight watchers who gave herself a cheat day every other week. She said it got her through and didn't make her feel like she was depriving herself. -
Losing TOO much weight
heartofthetinman replied to heartofthetinman's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I get 70 grams of protein with shakes regular food and bars. I think I am underweight. I only had 35-40 to lose. Now I dropped that and more. When does the regain start? I'm a couple pounds less than in my thirties and I'm in my fifties. -

I had my surgery in January and now I'm approximately 8 lbs under my goal weight and am not crazy about having lost too much. I'm on 70 grams of protein a day and getting in water but not the full amount. Any suggestions on how to gain back ten lbs?

Unjury makes what it calls Nectar protein powder that you can mix with water. Very light and you can order a sample box that has maybe 8-10 different flavor packets to try. My favorite two are peach and lemonade.

How to make water even better for you!
heartofthetinman replied to JupiterinVirgo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Be careful with too much lemon water. It's a natural diuretic and what ob/gyns tell pregnat women to drink when they retain water. -
Read my post from today. I got one answer where the person was the same and one with suggestions that would have been better if not passive aggressive

If I was bored my stomach wouldn't be growling. I'm doing everything I should. The water I physically cannot drink all of it and same with protein. I get about 70-80 grams and can't tolerate any more. Definitely not thirsty. Just the opposite have to make myself drink constantly.

Starving all the time. Six months out. Get most of my protein most of my water. Anyone else have this problem?

megall9 that's a load of garbage. My friend who is a nurse practitioner said over and over that it wasn't a long term solution. Well you know what? Neither is diet and exercise. Both are what you make of them long term. And frankly I don't know anyone who has kept up with just diet and exercise. -

heartofthetinman replied to kristennichole's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't eat breakfast either. I mix 2% milk unjury chocolate powder strawberries and spinach (I swear you can't even taste it) the night before and sip on that in the morning. Protein calcium fruit and vegetable all in one -
One month from surgery and not losing
