5 weeks post op and bad food choices

Have you been keeping a food log? I'm 5 weeks out and I have also had some issues with desires and acting upon them. I have found that keeping a food log with a space for feelings really helps. You can then see your progress, feelings, and weight and food choices... it helps you understand that before you abused your body and now is a chance to make progress, even if it is slow to come. Note how your feelings are when you act upon desires and when you don't. Stick with it and don't be afraid to go talk to someone in person, you can do this!

  3. Hi everyone, I'm day 2 after surgery and I have to take my blood pressure meds, etc. How long do you wait to take pills? One every 30 mins?

    Taking Prescription Pills after surgery

More worried about dumping them if I take one after the other with liquid. My surgeon didn't specify and I didn't remember to ask.

1 Day post operation from vertical sleeve!

Hi Nikki, I had mine done on Oct 12 and today was my first full day at home. It's amazing how much better I felt in the hospital than I did today at home. I guess thats because they pumped me so full of liquid, pain, and nausea meds every 4 hours! I was able to walk around quite a bit at the hospital and have been burping / passing gas today. However, this morning was rough with gas pain and nausea. I was very sore and tired (I had two unexpected hernia fixes as well during my procedure). sleep allows your body to heal, but I was told once I am up I need to move around and walk as much as I can and do different things as well (lifting up one leg at a time, side steps, etc) . That's the best thing I can say to you today. Best of luck and I hope you get everything you want out of this lifestyle change!
  6. There is a flavorless soy Protein powder I use from Nature's Blend that will adapt to any flavor you can think of. I put it in my Jello and broth as well since I am still on the liquid phase of surgery. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/natures-blend-protein-powder-80-soy-isolate-1-lb-pwdr Protein will keep your hair from falling out and help you with healing. Its very important to make sure you are getting your 70-100 grams per day! I have had a hard time making sure I get all of my goals in everyday, but all I can do is try my best and sometimes force them down to get as close as I can. Keep going and best of luck!
