I had trouble with every single Vitamin I tried until my RD advised Flinstones Complete, which are chewables. I take two each day. Bam, no more nausea from vitamins! My energy level didn't improve until after six weeks. Until about six-eight weeks, you're still primarily in healing mode, which takes a lot of energy out of you. -
Do you have reflux? Is there alternative treatment?

Nope. I had been on omeprazole preop for reflux. No problems with it postop. We'll re-evaluate whether I still need it about every three months. I have been on omeprazole for about four years with no issues. My EGD shosed no esophageal erosion from the reflux, so no damage from it. Many, many obese people have reflux from abdominal fat. Once the abdominal fat reduces, so, often, does the reflux. -

Breathe. How many calories are you getting each day? Given that your job is so active AND you're hitting the gym, without knowing what your intake is, I'm betting it isn't enough to meet your needs on just mushies and liquids. either back off at the gym for a while until your intake catches up, or find a way to get more calories in. No need to freak out or let your mind play tricks on you. -

My program doesn't give me a carb limit, but in order to get my Protein and calories in (which means protein plus some fat, my carbs range from 40-60/day with a calorie intake from 800-900. -

I keep a few heavier things around, because near the coast here in the Bay Area, it can be really chilly in the middle of summer. But I'm gleefully ditching the stuff that gets too big. I have four bags being donated today. -

I looked at the book on Amazon, and one telling feature (or lack thereof) for this book: I can't find in the table of contents any indicator of footnotes, endnotes, or other citations. Unless a book that purports to be using science contains citations, be wary. Second - not all who are obese are insulin-resistant, which seems to be key his approach. His findings appear to be based on his work with diabetics who developed some degree if kidney disease. This is not true of the bulk of the obese population. His approach may work for some, just remember, one size (or approach) does not fit all. -

Our fave taco chicken couldn't be easier: six or eight bone in, skin off chicken thighs. Put them in a crockpot or pressure cooker. sprinkle over a packet of taco seasoning. Pour over a jar of salsa. Cook in a slow cooker four to five hours on high, or in a pressure cooker 15". I like to refrigerate this overnight so I can defat the sauce the next day. Pull the chicken apart (save the bones for stock!), cook down the sauce a bit of you like. I freeze it in 2 oz portions for making mini taco salads. Huz makes bowls with brown rice and black Beans. -
@, it was SO amazing, I felt like dancing on air. However, after coming home and spending more time packing, my feet don't feel like dancing at all Huz had me call in an order for him to pick up at the same place on his way home from work. There is a half-bag of those fries out in the kitchen that preop would have called me like a siren. No interest at all. Thrilling!

If you're worried about getting in some more calories, could you try adding a slice or two of avocado to things? A spoonful of olive oil? Healthy fats are more than twice as calorie-dense than anything else. I have this same problem - I'd be comfortable eating only 600-700 calories a day, but my activity level is such that I stall out on that little. I'm really working to get upwards of 800-900, and my surgeon and RD want me closer to 1000-1200 now. It's a challenge because I have more restriction at 2 months. -

At five months out, as I understand, it's normal for your restriction to allow this much food. And your body has been through a LOT. It's probably still recovering, which would mean a need for more calories than otherwise. Are you tracking your intake? I'm diligent about it because I really drop too low on calories (according to my surgeon) and/or fiber if I don't track and adjust along the way. -
Wait, what? Just what are you eating 2.5 weeks postop? Did you not begin to make any changes in your diet preop? As has been posted here many, many times, you had surgery on your stomach, not on your head. nevertheless, you need to use your head. You need to follow your surgeon's instructions for a LOT of reasons, not the least of which is that you can cause yourself harm "testing" your new sleeve before it is ready. I'm only now testing things I love but wasn't sure my sleeve would like (pickles, yay!) and I'm more than two months out. If you weren't prepared to make a serious commitment to changing your eating habits, I wonder why you had surgery in the first place.

Mine is about to become radically different: our remodel starts Monday Currently it's being emptied! Our temporary "kitchen" will be in the guest room, so the guest room is being cleared, too. What's different about the way I cook in it since surgery? pretty much only that I haven't cooked Pasta since February. I used to one or twice a week (Huz loves it). And our overall anything lasts longer, because my portions are so small. We are going through cottage cheese and eggs at a rapid clip. -
@@Alex Brecher, no danger with me getting "stuffed" on salad; I can't stand even one bite too much, even with something slide-y like salad greens. I bought a half-size of my favorite salad from my favorite lunch place near the office the other day. I had about a third of it for lunch (it has chicken breast, avocado, hard-cooked egg, carrots, peppers, mushroom, and tomato in addition to greens). I had another third of it for dinner. Huz finished the rest. And that's a half-size.

@@Dub, maybe it's because I'm from California, but if it doesn't have shredded iceberg in it, it ain't a taco. I don't miss the shell if I can have my shredded lettuce. Since it's a slider for me, it's there for the texture and crunch, not the nutrition. I have in mind to build a taco on a romaine leaf, but I haven't done it yet.

It's an all in one pressure cooker, rice cooker, slow cooker, and steamer. You can also make taco chicken in a slow cooker, but in the pressure cooker, it only takes 15" (plus I refrigerate it overnight so I can take the fat off). six or eight skinless, bone-in chicken thighs a pkg of taco seasoning a jar of salsa That's it. I cook down the sauce a bit while I'm pulling the chicken off the bones the next day. Pressure cooking is exceptionally sleeve-friendly, everything gets very tender.

I discovered, to my delight, that iceberg and romaine are a slider for me. I just had a mini taco salad for dinner: 2 oz chicken taco meat (I made a huge batch of this in the Instant Pot), a handful if shredded lettuce, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, a morsel of light sour cream, a slice of avocado, and salsa. The crunch and coolness of the lettuce adds to my enjoyment of what's become a favorite mini-meal. It doesn't fill me up, or keep me from getting my Protein.

If you're on full liquids, you could put a bit of cooked salsa(not raw, or crudo, pido de gallo, that kind of thing) in the blender and pour it over greek yogurt. You may need to thin the salsa, depending. Whoops, just saw your reply. I think you could try a little cooked salsa on your eggs. That would be yummy! wait after that first bite to see how your sleeve likes it.

It absolutely does. Botox is used to treat migraines. I had a client who got botox for his migraines regularly - and his Medicare H M O pays for it, too. -

I started using a Retin-A/hydroquinone product prescribed by my dermatologist a year ago with great results. I have had one peel with very minor downtime - I'm starting out very slow because my skin is super-sensitive. I may decide to have some filler around my mouth but I'd like to try a couple more peels first. I'd stay away from the strip mall places, find a derm office in your area that also has an esthetician on staff. -
If they're having a problem, then it's their problem, not yours. You can only do you, y'know?
