I've been overweight most of my life. My predisposition to obesity comes from my mom's side. I developed unhealthy eating habits in adolescence that have carried over into adulthood. With my metabolism slowing down, my weight gain accelerated and I reached my highest weight ever - 380 lbs - as of 9/22/2015.
 
I received a wake up call when my manager invited me along with 9 other team members to give a presentation in Washington D.C. We decided to walk from the hotel. The location was 11 blocks away from the hotel, and I couldn't make 4 blocks. I sweated through my suit, couldn't catch my breath, and was hurting physically, mentally, and emotionally. It was embarassing and was absolutely the worst I've ever felt about myself. I instantly decided that this awful moment of humiliation would be my fuel to strive toward a better life.
 
I joined the baritricpal.com on 10/15/2015 after seeing it in The BIG book on the Gastric Sleeve to provide and receive support on this journey. If you are reading this, I am wishing you strength, success, and nothing but the best. Regardless of what's happened in our lives to this point, we deserve it ~
