  1. Hiya. I was sleeved in December 2015 and have been at goal since March of this year. Got an email update for this thread for some reason and decided to update my results. There is a large Australian Instagram community which is extremely supportive. Happy to have any and all followers (as long as you don't try to sell me stuff lol). My username is @maintaining.maggie. Cheers!
  2. Hi, I'd be more inclined to go with an exercise physiologist rather than a PT. They are more highly educated than a PT (4 year uni degree rather than a 6-8 week course that a PT does) and may be more suited to tailoring exercises to your specific needs.
  3. Mrs kaje - yes, I can have two cups of non starchy veggies. Just want the next two weeks over already
  4. Yeah, nah. Pretty sh•t lol. Officially start this Wednesday, have been trying off and on to stick to it but no go - I suck at it. Hoping a miracle happens and I suddenly keep it up continuously lol
  5. Yay, Naomi! Glad to see you through the other side! Keep us up to date on the recovery and beyond. Xx
  6. There were some on eBay - 30 strawberry for 30 bucks. Limited range. Try googling but there doesn't seem to be many places to get it cheaply.
  7. Excellent news, you'll be out before you know it. Any problems, Ifrit? Nausea, tiredness, pain?
  8. Thanks, guys. Smiley - that's unusual, I'd be insisting it's seen to, you never know what could be festering under there. At the very least observe it carefully. Congrats on the weight loss, still jel! Naomi - thanks for the encouragement! Start optifast at the end of November, hopefully the damage won't be too bad!
  9. Great stuff, Ifrit! The rate I'm going, I'll be twenty kilos heavier by the time December ninth roles around. I just can't seem to stop the food funeral - pizza, tuna pasta bake (which I love and hadn't had for years), all sorts of junk .... I do well for a day or two and then bang, it's back to eating whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like. I seriously want it to stop because I don't want to have to take off what I've just put on, but can't seem to help myself. Sigh. Roles = rolls
  10. Oooh good luck, Ifrit! Come back and give us a full report when you're up to it! Xx

    December 9th here! Can't wait
  12. I'm from the north eastern coast of Australia and have been a nurse for sixteen years, 18 months straight out of uni in med/surg and fifteen in ICU. I'm being sleeved on December 9th and I cannot wait! Only thing is I seem to be doing a lap of honour with all of my favourite foods (food funerals?). I know I'll eventually be able to eat anything but it's not stopping me doing it anyway.
  13. Best of luck, ifrit! Come back and tell us how you go!
  14. Thanks, everyone. Tres excited! Our Christmas party is on the 4th of December so worked out well.
  15. *Drumroll* ....I got my date today! 9th of December, baby! Have to do 2 weeks Optifast, which is going to suck, but anyhoo. Tres excited!

Surgeons in Britain have traditionally been called Mr, not Dr because of differences in their training centuries ago. Of course this has changed now but the practice remains.
  17. Gidday, Shoto. I'm well jel (am addicted to TOWIE, don't judge me) of the weight loss, can't wait to get a date and get rolling! Have bought a good supply of Optifast, portion perfection bowl and plate and several books that have been recommended to me. It's all go. Naomi, good luck with the pre-op diet. Four weeks will be grim, let us know how you're going. I can't get enough of reading every little detail of people's experiences lol.
  18. Thanks, BCs. Am in North Queensland, Townsville to be exact.
  19. Hi, everyone. I've done all my pre-op workups and am now waiting to see the surgeon this Thursday. Hopefully will get a date then. Had to wait a month for this appointment and am getting nervous. I'm a nurse as well (ICU) so yeah, know all the complications that can happen. Eek. Have told my daughter and husband and a few people at work who've all been very supportive. Thanks for sharing your experiences, it's great to have other Aussies to talk to!
