What were (or are) some of the barriers holding you back from getting wls?
redvet replied to miamomma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Miamomma, I totally understand, I have had those same thoughts but if we don't do it we continue to be in pain, on medication and not live the life we were meant to live, I want to be around for my children, grandchildren and myself so I don't have a choice, I won't get my surgery until Mar/April because of BCBS but I just want to get it over with. Hang in there, you are not alone. -
Congratulations! Welcome to your New Self!

redvet replied to Chocolate Butterfly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Chocolate Butterfly, I have told some people that I will be having the surgery and a few of them have said, why do you need that you look fine or someone actually said "you can't be smaller than me" and someone said just be careful people have died from that, now I wish I hadn't said anything to anybody, but I am a positive person and I know this is the best thing for myself and my health. Good luck and let's keep In touch. -

Good luck to you dhrguru, I'm sure you will find your stride. The main thing is that you're losing the lbs (albeit slowly) but that's the point because you're not gaining, so listen to your body and keep doing what you're doing and before you know it you will be at your desired weight and healthier than you've ever been. -

How did everyone do with their preoperative appointments? Was there any issues? I'm getting ready to have my endoscopy and sleep study done and I'm a little nervous. -

Hi Kisha, how are you doing since your surgery? I am looking forward to joining the club, lol. -
Abby, where do you go for your nutrition classes? I go up in Greenville or Lancaster Pike it's called. My next class is friday.
-
Hi Abby, I'm right there with you, this will be second month of nutrition classes and dr. Peters will be doing my surgery. I live in Bear and I don't have a date yet but thinking it won't be until March because of the 7 months of preparations. Maybe we can keep in touch and support each other. Good luck to you! And I wish you much success! Annie

Hi, nice to meet you, Dr. Peters will be my surgeon as well. Because of insurance my surgery is not until march or april, when is yours?

I live in New Castle County and I just had my 1st nutrition class, I met with Dr. Peters for the consult and I had my lab work done, so it would be nice to go through this process with someone who knows what I'm going through. Good luck everyone!
