Wow! A Grandparents Group For Sleevers
redvet replied to walesmary's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm glad you're doing good! I'm sure you have loss quite a bit of weight, just imagine how you will look 6 months or even a year from now, don't forget to take pics along the way. I have 3 grands, 2 beautiful boys (18 & 7) and 1 beautiful grand-daughter (16) and they are one of the reasons why I'm choosing to have the surgery. I live in Delaware and it's cold here right now but not as cold as it is in Boise I'm sure, lol -

Way to go cherri2082. I will be sleeved in Mar / April and I am looking forward to it. So I'm assuming there were no complications with your surgery? How long were you in the hospital and where do you live? -
L.o.v.e. I don't read the negative stuff because everyone's experience is different, I try to maintain a positive attitude so that my surgery can have a positive impact. In my years on this planet it's been my experience that most of the things we worry about never happens and we just scare ourselves like crazy. I do know that things can go wrongs but I choose to deal with those things if and when they occur. It's normal to be concerned but don't let fear hold you back from living the life you were meant to live, this is a blessing for so many people and I want to add years to my life not just for me but for my family as well. l do belive this is a current forum.

redvet replied to lil4heartz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Theresa64, not sure. Try clicking on the name of who you want to inbox and some symbols should come up at the top of the page. Or try clicking on the 3 small squares on the top right hand corner and hit reply, hope this helps, I'm not technology savvy, lol. -
How you doing since the surgery Tammy?
-
Wow, sleever314, I'm sorry you had to go through that! I'm not sure why a stress test was ordered for me because I had the endoscopy done with no problems and my had my colonospy done earlier and I was un anesthesia both times with no complications, but the cardiologist ordered it so I don't have a choice. Good luck with your surgery, I will be praying and thinking of you, I can't wait to get my date.

Hi guys, I was just curious if anyone has had any complications from any of their pre-op tests? I had my sleep study, endoscopy, saw my pulmonary dr. some lab work done but now I have to have a stress test done and an echo done, because of my weight, I get out of breath easy and I'm worried about not doing good on the stress test, I guess my mind is playing tricks on me, did anyone have any issues with their stress test or echo, I just don't want anything to get in the way of my surgery after coming this far. Thanks everyone.

L.o.v.e, I believe it's a normal thing to be concerned, but if you have come this far why turn back now? There must be a reason why you decided to have WLS in the first place and you obviously need it like the rest of us here but you have to make sure it's the right decision for you. When you are sick and tired of being sick and tired you will do what's best for you, I wish you all the best and we are here anytime you need a ear. Good luck to you.

BabyNewYear, I am positive and confident that you will have your surgery and I have faith that both of us will be victorious in this process. I am going to try and not think of the negative but focus on the positive, God did not bring us this far to leave us. Good luck and God Bless you, let me know how everything goes.

African American vsgers!
redvet replied to theshrinkingdutchess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Arenea, the endoscopy was real easy, the hardest part was worrying about what was going to happen, lol. They get you comfortable and the anesthesia doctor come in and talk to you to explain what is going to happen, then they gently put you to sleep, you don't feel anything, it's a very relaxing nap, the doctor takes pics of your esophagus and stomach just to make sure there aren't any problems that might interfere with your WLS, the procedure is really quick about 30 mins then you wake up and go home, simple. You won't have a problem so save yourself a headache and don't worry. -
Rachel, did you have to have a stress done or an echo done?
-
1 more day tammyob how you doing? I saw the cardiologist this morning and she wants me to have a stress test and an echo done, anyone else have to have this done?

Awesome @@b.e.a.u.tiful_disaster, congrats on getting your date. -
I think it's normal to be worried a little but we have to get out of our heads otherwise we will drive ourselves crazy. Give your fears to God and leave it there, what will be will be, worrying won't change anything. Good luck to everyone.

Any grandparents in this blog? I was just wondering how is everybody doing? -
Just my opinion but I think everyone is different and I am 60 and will be having my sleeve done in March/April and I am looking forward to meeting my new self and doing the things that I haven't been able to do in years. I try and think positive encouraging thoughts and hopefully my experience will be a good one and even if problems come up I pray they don't last and that I am able to deal with them in a positive way. I am sorry for those who have regrets but I wish you the best life ever!
