I'm so sorry! I too am terrified that I've gone through all this with my insurance company for the last 6 to 7 months with co pays and out of pocket money spent to meet the requirements and to possibly not be approved. I hope this peer to peer works in your favor! please keep me updated. I will not know about my approval till they submit my paper work on Nov 13th. How long did it take to hear back from them once they sent it in?

call you doctors office and ask to speak with the nurse or phone nurse if they have one and ask them just to be sure everything is ok. !

Hello I have BCBS AL , Started my process May , and had to do psych eval, sleep study, weigh in monthly, give last 3 year weights, see my PCP 3 times , letter from my PCP , and meet with the NUT. They can not submit my paper work until Nov 13th so , I have to wait to hear back from them. It has been a long process but I'm beyond ready by this point! Let me know how it goes for you

I know that feeling of the wait. They can not submit my paper work to BCBS AL till Nov 13th! It feels like forever away. I did call and talk to a lady a BCBS AL about the approval time frame and she told me they have to tell you 30 days, but should not be more than 7 or 14 at the most. I'm hoping for surgery around Dec at least. Good luck keep me posted. -
Have you tried the bariatric pal food store on here? I've been looking at the products and they have broth that has protein in it I want to say like 15grams per serving. I plan on buying a bunch of this stuff to have for before surgery on my 2 weeks of liquids and then for after. They even had jello on there that has 15 grams of protein.

Good Luck ! Mine was submitted last Thursday and I still have not heard back. I too had a year of missing doctors too for some reason! My BMI is 41.3 and have severe sleep apnea. Hope you have news soon! -
Have you asked your MD if he can check your blood work to see if you're anemic?

Curious if anyone on here has used BCBS AL and if so how long does the approval process take? My doctors office submitted my paper work Thursday of last week. The suspense is killing me. I'm 5'1 weight 221, 1 co morbidity of severe sleep apnea, BMI 41.3. Just ready to do this after waiting 6 months!

I have BCBS AL , my BMI is 41.8 , and I have severe Sleep Apnea. I have completed my 6 months and all the other doctors visits, along w/ my PCP letter . They submitted my paper work last Thursday. I'm really nervous they wont accept it and all this time and money is at a loss Anyone else out there have BCBS Al and the wait time for approval or denial? -
