I think having the surgery two months ago has helped my marriage!! In so many ways! My husband is not over weight and has always been active (we used to be active together). I'm feeling more like my old self, the me before I couldn't lose the baby weight and gained even more. He always tells me, happy wife=happy life!

Recovery + Time Off Work
southernheart replied to Janie80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work a desk job in customer service. I had my surgery just over a month ago on a Wednesday and was back at work the next Monday. I was up and walking immediately in the hospital, climbed stairs the next day, and almost no pain at all. I didn't have to take the pain and nausea medicine they sent me home with either. I would have enjoyed more time off because I was very tired and lost my energy quickly, but that's all the vacation time I had available. Everyone is different in their recovery. -
I am loving the centrum chewable fruit vitamins. Not the gummies, it's the round balls that are the chewables. I like the tropical flavor. I can't swallow big pills so these have been amazing. I've also replaced some of my water intake with one vitamin water zero a day. This has helped my energy level so much!

What About The Good (Amazing) Stories?
southernheart replied to creativediff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only almost 3 weeks post op but my surgery went fantastic and I recovered very quickly. I was up walking with minimal pain and have had no complications so far. I've been lucky and I'm so grateful!! ???? I was shocked at how well everything went. I had prepared my self to feel miserable and to be in tons of pain. -
How much time off before returning back to work?
southernheart replied to Krztina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oct 21st. I'm almost 3 weeks post op. I wish I had been able to take the additional time off work but I couldn't. My boss and co workers were not supportive of the idea of WLS a year ago when I mentioned it the first time. So I didn't share with them that I was actually having the surgery now. Thankfully my husband and family have been amazing! -
How much time off before returning back to work?
southernheart replied to Krztina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my rny on Wednesday and was back at work on Monday. I work in an office and sit at a computer 75% of the time and the rest is walking to the printer or someone else's office. I have been fine energy wise except for going up and down stairs. That takes my energy level down fast but just takes about 15 mins to get it back.
