Rugman, get teh flutters cheked out. That is how I found out about my skipping heart-beats a few years ago. Nothing serious, but good to get doccumented. Pay attention to when they happen. Stress...after caffiene...different times of your cycle....lack of sleep...while excersizing. Mine really act up with stress and while excersizing I can't let my heart rate go over 170 beats per minute because it starts doing all sort of crazy beats...not good. I'm on meds for it now. It all started out with a fluttering in my chest. Again, most likely nothing serious but better to have it checked out. Chrisitne

It's great to see everyone doing so well. I have to admit I have an ice-cream addiction. The first step to recovery is admitting the problem, so there it is. This week I've been doing vry well with excersize. I have been on the treadmill each morning. I am down 2 more pounds and have been doing weel with the eating except the ice-cream business. I will not have anymore, because apparently I can't just eat a little bit of it. I have an appt with my MD tomorrow, but my DH had to go the California, his mom fell into a coma yesterday and is not doing well. So I may have to reschedule in order to be home with my kids after work. Rhonda....WAY TO GO!!!!!!! Keri and Tess, isn't it nice to see the numbers going down even when we are being so hard on ourselves. Christine

By the way...I have to admit that I really miss Fenton. Christine

Kerri....how did you do today with your attempt to jump start things? I did OK. I actually got up at 5 this AM instead of 5:30 and got on the treadmill for 30 minutes. This is HUGE for me. I will do the same tomorrow. Taking this to a new level. Christine

BN posting the failures as well as the success is important. Today is a new day. Forget the weekend and move on. Christine

Kerri, glad you posted. I think low carbing is a great idea. I'll join you in your Atkin's induction...but I'll start on Monday. I'm having a B-Day party for my mom on Sunday and I know I will have a bit too many carbs for Atkins. So, I'll post on Monday evening to say how I did and to check in on you. We can do this! Special K- I don't think you need much more of a fill if you are full after eating only 2 egg whites. Some bandsters like to be very tight, for me I like to know that I can have a little bit of anything in control. So, I may lose slower, but I can live a normal likfe in front of my friends and family. Last week when I had my major PB and then could eat NOTHING for 3 days I lost 3 pounds in 3 days, but I did not feel good and would not wan tto be like that for the long haul. It's a personal decision. If you like to be very restricted and stick to Protein in liquid forms, go for it. Christine

Aunt Lucy, I like your way of looking at it. SO let's just put it out there.... March 2009.... Have lost at least 80 pounds! Now I guess I'd better get my but in gear and start working a bit harder at this. Christine -
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are an inspiration. Thank you for posting! Christine

Fenton, how are you feeling? You've been very quiet...for me that usually means I'm having a hard time. Hope you are doing well. Kerri...(KPod) how are you doing? Hanging in there? Hope youre oK. Christine

Welcome Niki! WCM, I would love a 7.5 pound weight loss in a month. You are doing amazing. Especially since you have not had a fill yet....amazing. Christine

(((Penny))) Yikes! 3cc is a very aggressive fill. I think it should be a bit more gradual than that, especially since you were not totally empty. It's so hard to be patient and wait for that sweet spot. There also seems to be a very fine line between too tight and just right. The swelling will give you some restriction for a few days at least. My doc said that about 1cc of Fluid is stuck in the tubing between the port and the band, so it makes sence that the 1 cc was missing, but seems weird that he would say it was in the tissue and not in the tubing. Anyway, glad you'll be feeling better, but sorry you are now at such a low fill. Christine

I read this thread so often, but am so araid to post. I know it's silly, but I'm afraid of letting myself down. It's funny, because I've been sitting here figuring well, it's been 4 months since surgery I've lost about 35 post surgery, the rest was before, so how much can I really expect myself to be able to accomplish in the next 8 months.... Just when I come to one conclusion, I wimp out and change my mind. Am I the only one here who can't do this? Is it just a way of giving myself an out? So weird as it is, my goal for August is to be able to come back here and post my March 2009 goals. Christine -
Annie, I too love the hair. I hope you come to feel comfortable in it, because that's what really matters. I too have been craving chocolate lately. I usually have a cup of coffee instead. It's working so far. I know I'm not the type that can have a little bit and stop. My band is fine now. It must have been that PB last week that made me so tight. There is a HGUE fluctuation in how tight my band is. Some days I can eat ANYTHING...other days I better stick to liquids if I know what's good for me. Christine

Annie....Sending huge hugs your way. So sorry you are going through this. IMHO I think your wig looks fantastic and your pictures on the photo thread show that you are a really beautiful girl...it's up to the right guy now to see that it's not just on the outside but on the inside. The right guy may come along within the next 6-12 months, he may not...it's a fact. If he does come along and really is a guy of worth he'll get the whole hair thing and he'll realize it's what's inside that matters. So, I guess I agree with your friend that it will be a great way to weed out the jerks early on. The first step to anyone accepting any part of you is accepting yourself. When I met my husband I was 25 yrs old and had just gotten out of a bad relationship (found out the guy was married...she lived in Canada with the kids, he as in the States). I had just given everything up and moved to Saudi Arabia to work. I was there for me....to make money for me....to travel and start anew. When I met my husband he got me...the real me. I hid nothing and was totally myself from day one. None of those new relationship cover-ups or I hope he does not notice this or that. I did not want a relationship. Sure I wanted sex....but not the whole head trip. So for the first time in my life I was out there being me, unafraid because I wasn't EXPECTING to find anything but just have some fun. Boy was I shocked when a few months in I found out that this guy that I was just having great sex and fun with was in love with me. Anyway, I guess it's my very long winded way of saying that maybe over the next few months focus on you and what you love about you and what really makes you feel good. You are worth it. You have taken this huge step in transforming yourself and it's had the really unfortunate side effect of losing your hair, but it's temporary loss. Good luck with your hair-cut today. If you feel comfortable post a photo when it's done. Hugs! Christine

OK I think I hurt my band with that PB the other day. 2 days ago I had my first PB. Yesterday I did all liquids and by yesterday evening was having trouble if I took more than a sip at a time. Today I tried oatmeal for Breakfast and it felt like it sat in my gullet for a good 5 hours. In that time if I drank a sip of Water I slimed miserably. So I did liquids today too. Took me quite a while to get my slimfast down and my smoothie was a bit too thick, kept feelinglike it was backing up. I really hope my PB did not cause my band to slip. Anyone else have this experience after a PB? I have not had a fill since May. Why would I be so tight suddenly? Kind of worried, but trying to simply stick to the fluids and see if in a few days I can move on to mushies. I guess this will accelerate my weightloss for a little bit. Christine
-
Kerri, So sorry to hear about your loss of your Grandma. As the other have said, the weight will come off again. Hugs! Christine

Congratulations Texgirl on making it to Onederland!! Christine

Had my first PB last night. It was not a nice experience at all. I ate a couple of bites (literally) of my sons steak when I was cleaning up the dinner plates. I had no trouble at the time. about 3 hours later I tried to drink something and it did not feel right. Made me queesy. After I put the kids to bed I felt like I had a golf ball in my chest kept slimiing then got HUGE hic-ups. I was so relieved when I finally spit out that bit of steak that must not have been chewed well enough. Yuck! The hic-ups remained and I had to got o bed with them, but thankfully did not wake up with them. Slow down and chew-chew-chew. Christine

By the way...how can people not notice my 40 pound weight loss? My SIL asked me the other day "so have you lost any weight since the surgery?" I almost fell off my seat...but I just responded with "yea, about 40 pounds" She said "well, I guess I can see it in your face." I think she needs glasses! I was shocked! I am wearing a size 18 down from a tight 24. Amazing, simply amazing. So mushe asier when people just keep their mouths shut. Christine

Having a hard time with the head stuff lately. DH and I have some issues and it seems when things get bad I start having a hard time holding it together with the healthy eating. I get stressed and it's hard to get the real solid Proteins down (because my band seems to get really tight with stress) and then I get HUNGRY and eat some high carb mushie stuff to fill the hunger. Then the head stuff hits and I eat of all things....ice cream. I will not buy anymore ice cream! I will get on the treadmill when the head stuff gets to me. I must continue ....40 pounds is not goal...even though it is getting mighty comfortable. Christine

Harley WTG! I can't even imagine a size 14! I have not been there since before I was 14 yrs old. WTG! You can shop any store, anytime! Fenton...I can't believe how quickly you are closing in on 100 pounds. I know you stick to your schtick of "moving your very large body yada, yada, yada", but you know what... not everyone of your size would be doing what you are doing as quickly as you are doing it. Yea, you get those calorie bumps in there now and again, but then you see the numbers and you get your body moving. You are doing an awesome job! Congrats. Christine
-
Fenton Congratulations on the 3 pound drop! You will reach your 100 pound mark in no time at all! Scrappy congrats on dropping the BP meds. You have done so well! I too would love to drop about 20 pounds by September. Maybe we can cheer eachother on. Christine
