I would like to join also. -
I have gone for long periods of time with no weight loss, "stalls" as they are called here and they are common. Just keep plugging along. i stopped weighing every day and just weigh once a week. It's less frustrating. P.S. So glad to see "losing" correctly spelled!

3 1/2 months and I'm eating like I used to~
mmincinci replied to colleenrocks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found apps like "loseit" and vigilantly tracking what I eat helpds and keeps me focussed. Right now your full time job is to get to goal. Each morning, determine what you are going to eat for the day and stick with it. Look through the recipes here and other sites and prepare them. Good Luck. It's a battle. -
Scheduled for surgery in December
mmincinci replied to CincyDave's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is so worth it. I would do it all over again. Where are you having your surgery? I had mine at Fairfield Mercy with Dr. Dahman and they were a great team. Everyone has fear and trepidation. It is a big deal. Your wanting pizza is what my nutritionist called"last supper syndrome". I had it too! Gained weight before the surgery. -
we are all ages here. I am 62 (in my head I'm 35). I am feeling a tad frustrated. After melting off 30 pounds (surgery Sept. 2nd) , I have been stalled for 2 weeks. Is this normal? You all seem to be doing well.

I made a casserole that someone posted, with cooked ground pork base, refried beans, some chilis, onion and eggbeaters topped off with cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 (9x11) pan. Delish!

I can eat a hotdog in a bun. Someone posted earlier they can only eat a half hotdog (their surgery date was 2014). Is it unusual for me to be able to eat the whole thing??? My surgery was Sept. 2nd/15.
-
I have UHC and there was no waiting period like that. it doesn't make any sense. I would look hard into that . My surgery was scheduled a few weeks after completion of pre-op tests.

I must be a bad sleever! In put 1/4 cup of brown sugar in the crockpot and didn't even think about it. I was focusing on all the good protein and fiber!! They were delicious and no side effects.
-
I'm vegetarian so I eat beans a lot. The protein and fiber is good for you. If you can balance out the sugar content, having beans once a week or so might be a good way to stay regular.

OK Monday, work day. That means crockpot.... threw in chicken breasts, left over Portobello mushroom soup, cilantro, fingerling potatoes and lemon. Hope it turns out O.K.

I did not like the Unjury protein but I tried Nectar protein powder and it is delicious.

Daily Calorie count at 1 month post op
mmincinci replied to kanaud's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
probably 800 calories. -
Hello Elode, I have made my own but not tonight. Bought from Jungle Jim's in Fairfield ,Ohio, the best International grocer around. Souvlaki is Greek and back in the day I worked at a Greek restaurant while in college and learned to make some cool dishes. I love pork tenderloin.
-
Tonight at my house...souvlaki. Basically pork tenderloin marinated in lemon, olive oil and fresh oregano. I will slice it, skewer it, and put it on the grill. Serve it up with a green salad and tzatziki sauce( yogurt, garlic and cucumber....Yum! Usually I would serve it with rice (pre-op) but tonight maybe sweet potato.

This is off topic, but I have to say, you have lost a lot of weight in one year. More than most. So, how did you do it? I am new to surgery(Sept.2nd ) and new to this site but I would be interested in any tips! Thanks in advance.

Protein Shake help for taste and smell?
mmincinci replied to Gethealthy2016's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use nectar products. The Protein shakes are delicious and not chalky nor do they have a strong smell.
