Well that's an interesting development.
chadhcanterbury replied to RoscoColetrain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have hemochromatosis and at this point it is well under control. I only have to get drained once every 12-16 months now. its not really a big deal for me now. when I was first diagnosed I went for blood draws every two week s for almost three months to get the iron levels back to normal. I think with the modified diet of gastric bypass I should never have to get a blood draw again. -

chadhcanterbury replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Anyway, like I was sayin', Brussels sprouts is the fruit of the garden. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. Dey's uh, Brussels sprout-kabobs, Brussels sprout creole, Brussels sprout gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's . There’s pineapple Brussels sprouts, lemon Brussels sprouts, coconut brussel sprouts, pepper Brussels sprouts, Brussels sprout soup, Brussels sprout stew, Brussels sprout salad, Brussels sprouts and potatoes, Brussels sprout burger, Brussels sprout sandwich. That, that’s about it.” -

Need to talk to ten post operative people as part of Dr's pre-op requirments
chadhcanterbury posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, As part of my pre-operative regimen my Dr. requires that I talk to at least ten post operative bypass patients. So here we go. My name is Chad and I am 46 years old. I am having the gastric sleeve surgery with some bypass or sleeve with RNY, my surgeon doesn't do pouches anymore. The main reason I am getting the Surgery is to get rid of my diabetes, so any post ops who have advice about what to expect in this regard please feel free to post and let me know about it. Thank you Chad -

Big fuzzy they don't require one on one conversations, they said joining and talking on a bariatric surgery forum was enough. -

Thank you everyone for replying to my post. I work 3rd shift so I usually check the site during my breaks late at night into the morning. It is looking like I will have surgery sometime in the early part of may, so hopefully that will be the end of the shots and pills for me. I think on the weight loss side I will only end losing around 65-70 pounds. When I graduated high school and quit wrestling I weighed 185 and had single digit body fat, so I am looking to level out around 195.
