ok my belly is making noises like crazy. girgling/rumbling like i'm hungry or i have gas but i'm not hungry. my mind is though. i finally understand the difference. i'm sure its normal but just curious what you all have experienced when you were in your early stages of banding. kind of feels full, but not sure if thats pain/gas/ or hunger.?????:confused2:

ok doing better right now, this morning was a little hard. not much on gas pains i can handle well ok. really stiff and having hard time with blood thinner shots, my dr requires them for 2 weeks. hubby has been doing them. i said for him to go to work for a bit to get out of the house. he needed it. pain meds are helping. feeling grateful but still sore. lots of rumbling in my belly. hospital stay was great morphine drip helped alot. moving slow, but moving well after more than 48 hours. thanks so much.

well today i'm still stiff. cant give myself the shots. DH is doing it for me, i just panic and cry. no regrets i know this is just healing time and your emotions are all over the place. his sisters are nurses and there coming over tomorrow while my husband goes back to work to help me out. good support system. i just want this bag of anestestic (sp). out of my tummy. almost there. i want to put on a bra. sounds silly but i'm needing the support. just tired. it takes so much out of you when you just go bathroom or eat well drink. no problems there. no issues whatsoever. thats good. i'll check in tomorrow. taking big breathes are hard. i have a little excersise that i have to do once or twice a day to keep my lungs clear. all is going as expected...i have not weighed yet. maybe tomorrow. michelle:sleep:

:eek: hi all, well in five days i will be banded and missing a gall bladder.. thats going well. pre-op diet goes well during the day but at night i'm starved, and not eating the best foods.:frown: anyway, i have had a couple of bad days at work... working with women sucks, small office (dental) dr/boss not a leader what-so-ever. so i got into with a couple of idiots who i work with about patient stuff... LATER THAT NIGHT, come home panic attack.. small one but still panic attack. tonight another if i dont relax, it will spiral to a big one. i took 5mg valium that my girlie gave me to help me relax.. i'm sure my nerves are showing themselves right now and its hitting me that i'm about to change my life and i still work with biotches... DH is @ work tonight, on his midnight rotations. tomorrow the weather is going to get bad so my hating driving in bad weather will be kicking in... just a mess tonight. feel sorry for me! just kidding, just needed to get my thoughts out before i come unglued.:cool2: never doubting my decesion to band, just having some anxiety right now. like a baseball in my chest. i made an appt for sat to start some antidepressants for mood issues with work and hoopefully get some meds for when i have these attacks instead of getting them on the street. he does not like to prescribe very much. my dr has me on 3 heperin shots a day, the rx are at the cvs. i band on tues. little freaked out by it but i'll do it. tid for 14 days. my dh will not do it for me, he'll pass out. lol. dr said he just is taking more precaution with surjeries.

i WONDER what else they check for. i just took 10mg valium becuase i had an anxiety attack tonight. i'll call them tomorrow and let them know. i dont want any grief.

I had my preop and I gained 6.5 from when they saw me in oct. i actually gained 10lbs but since the preop diet i have lost 4 lbs. he did not freak out. he seemed like he had a whatever attititude, maybe its because my bmi is a 38-39. and i only have sleep apnea. so no more diet logs, i have my new menu for the 2 weeks after surjery and i go back. i get an "adjustment" in 4 weeks. every dr is sooo different. i'm really trying to sip liquids and not drink while i eat. they still want me to work out right up until feb 5th. i did not today, I cleaned all day. i'm in a calm right now, I just cant believe, well it has not sunk in yet that i'm gettiing a second chance at my life. 19 years of struggling. soooo happy right now.

I HAVE ALL LIQUID PAIN MEDS AND SOME ANTI NAUSAU (SP) AND I ALSO HAVE TO HAVE MY GALL BLADDER OUT. i THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE A FUNERAL FOR IT. AT LEAST SAY A FEW WORDS. LOL I FEEL A QUIET PEACE ABOUT IT ALL, MY NERVES ARE TRYING TO KICK IN, BUT I KNOW I HAVE TO DO THIS. I JUST HOPE RECOVERY IS GOOD.

Ok today i go for my preop appt. i sooooooo nervous, my diet logs are ok i guess, i have only lost a couple of pounds from the 8 i gained over oct,nov,dec. i hope he does not say anything like we cant do your surjery. freakin out. i was up all night. i'll keep everyone posted. AS OF TODAY, STILL SCH FOR FEB 5TH. SO EXCITED.!!:eek:

I had my preop and all is well but i need my galbladder removed now i'm freaked out. I did not know that i had problems. so next week they take it too. so my questions is what kind of recovery am i looking forward to? healing? will I be sore and can I go back in a week to work? thats what I had planned only one week. i may be able to take 2 more days but my dr( dentist/boss) utilizes me. I guess I do not want any problems with my job and i dont want any issues with healing. any thoughts?

I'm so glad someone said it... my date is in 1.5 weeks and this place does make you have some 2nd thoughts, but i do not have 2nd thoughts and look forward with good butterflys. thanks for all the wonderful advice, support and realism that comes with this decision.

Ok I'm sch for feb 5th and so every morning i see that crap... it makes me have 2nd doubts about what i'm doing like i'm a bad person and i'm giving up. taking the easy way. no easy from what i been reading. why not give credit to all people who have lost huge weight and KEPT IT OFF! why does it matter that one goes one route and another a different route. Its the media who dictates whats good and not good. I stopped Oprah because she is doing it also. And she looks heavy to me. Now I know TV adds weight but now she has a thyroid problem. I'm not knocking thyroid disease,but Stop making me feel bad. I do that enough to myself already. I just turn the channel now. i am working with a therapist so hopefully stuff like this does not get in the way to my goals of keeping the weight off once I lose it. thanks for the vent!!!

I am from dayton, and i have capital blue cross/blue shield and i was required for 6months non suporvised diet, co morbilty diagnosis, because my bmi was 39. i was denied at first but i have sleep apnea and i provided jenny craig for 6 months. so now i'm approved and my date is feb 5th. good luck stay on them and find a good office who will work with your ins company when or if you get any negative feedback. good luck.

My husband is supports me, my mom had banding as well. I just had some girl at the office say " sorry i dont agree" she's 110lbs. How can she even understand, I just wanted to tell her well " you drink to medicate your problems, i eat" I did not say anything but i was close. some are more curious but have not said much as far as yes or no. A couple who i dont really care for have not said anything. i think they are jealous all ready. I think if I stay fat in their minds I will not be a threat.. whatever. working with women is very hard most of the time. most of my close friends do not know. only one. and she is very supportive. So it will be interesting to see how they react to me losing weight again. some will just snub their noses at me but oh well, they have bigger issues that i dont care about really. so i'll just stick my tongue at them when they get ugly. because i'll be smiling from ear to ear.

1- Not have my belly stick out farther than my boobs. 2- Have more & better sex with husband. 3- look really good in a pair of jeans & a tee-shirt, no more Lane Bryant/ Torrid. 4- when I eat I actually get full. 5- When I smile you actually see a neck and a chin than a blob with 2 eyes. 6- bathing suit, I dont have to add anything there. 7- look like the hot scooter mama that I was before all this self medication. 8-Oh i have these white over the knee boots that I would love to wear again. 9-to shine on the outside as well on the inside. 10-wear high heels, no feet pain. stop snoring. 11-wear tank tops and shorts, thighs not rub, no heat rash anywhere. 12- i took this from someone else, retake wedding pictures with my dress taken in!!!! 13,14,15,16.... I could go on & on... I just want to be here and healthy to live my life to the fullest potential.

I personally have always liked EAS locarb dark chocolate. 17 g of protein and 100 calories. I'll start liquid next week. now my dr never said for a liquid but i have gained weight over the holidays and since Jan 1 i've started to cut back. I just want to be at least the weight i was for my initial appt. plus its the jump start to my new life..i will next week buy that Welcome to the unjury Homepage powder protein.

Sch. Feb 5th... happy, scared,nervous.. excited..

Hi, I'm sch for feb 5th. So i'm preparing as much as I can, working out, trying to eat right for what is needed. Its tough though. lost a couple of pounds so far.. but anyway. i do see a couselor and she is wanting me to get ready for the emotionsl change so I do not use food as medication anymore. so I need a list so when i feel the " triggers" of stress and life I do not self medicate with food. So what where the some of the emotional changes and when daily life gets tough how did and do you great gals handle it? Now that you've been banded. she wants me come up with an emotional plan as well as the diet change so I fix and heal the inside and woohoo fix the outside. I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE THANKS:wink2:

there is a generic and in lower doses is what i take for my cold sores.. when i feel the tingle in my lip i take up to 800 mg to cut down on time with a big blister on my lip. famvir/ acyclovir/valtrex all the same different doses and names. my acyclovir comes in 200 mg tablets. I cant take that horse pill valtrex.

Yeah the the therapist started out as a little boost for marriage couseling and now that we are on the same track again she has been great for both of us. My husband will also go by himself. I'm so glad I found her. she just wants me to have the right tools for this next change... She gives me homwork and so thats what i'm doing is her home work. " come up with a emotional plan for the change in weightloss"
