I love my fitbit too. Both my husband and I got ones in August while I was in my prep phase for surgery. It has been awesome. We compete against each other so it encourages us to add "extra steps" to daily tasks to try to get the maximum steps. It also motivated us to get outside more and we have started doing trails in our parks with the kids which is great. My husband beat me for the first time during the bast two weeks due to the surgery and post-op healing, but I'm determined to beat him again this next week as I return to my normal routines. I also link my to MFP and use that to track my food. My dietician loves it because I'm extremely faithful to recording to keep it all in sync. It can be a fun motivator and I would be lost without mine now.

I am day 10 post-op. My steri-strips have been coming off and my incisions are of course still red and angry, however, one of them, not my port site has some red welts that have me worried. I also have red bumps around some of them which seems odd. I am going to watch it this weekend and call my doctor on Monday if it isn't better, but I was curious if anyone else had red "welts" like that? Also, for the itching around the incision sites, does something like Benadryl help?

What was your weight pre op and what is it now?

I'm at 10 days out of surgery. My weight on the day of surgery was 242, today I am at 232. I haven't started solid foods yet so I don't know how that will impact it. One thing I didn't think about though was that there is swelling after the surgery so it takes some time before you will "see" the impact. Right now my incision sites are still sore so I'm wearing mostly loose fit clothing and my tummy is still slightly swollen. I'm sure it will be even more exciting once the swelling is gone. -
I had my surgery on October 1 and am returning to work on Monday. I am far enough along in my recovery that I was able to go trail walking with my family today for about 5 miles. Everyone is different of course, but I would think that if you had the earlier date in November you would be able to still perform on the 22.
