Looking for local people Bham Uk

    I dropped you a message
  2. Hey guys, I was sleeved on September 25th which just so happened to be my birthday too. I'm 19, not married or anything no kids neither. If you guys do start a Facebook group id love to join and see how everyone's doing. I hope all is going well ????
  3. Hi all, I'm two weeks out and have not had any Protein shakes or Vitamins so far I feel fine and not having any complications. Is it ok to continue on with this? Are there any dangers if so what are they? I don't want to exclude this part out of my post op guidelines and end up having problems after so would really appreciate some advice. Thank you.
  4. Barry w thank you the website is filled with information I've printed it as it will do me good, thank you again
  5. Kradtke5, no I don't have a nut as I had my surgery done in Belgium and not in Britain it is kind of hard for me as it was just a fly there fly back situation. I was unable to book an appointment with my gp since I got back (The vibe that I got is that they weren't very happy that I got it done abroad so they didn't want nothing to do with it) but I have been to see my doctor once I started getting all panicky and literally demanding for an appointment and I've had the chance to have a good chat with him and I finally also got my vitamins but yes it has been extremely hard because I went into this thing with my eyes closed and came out exactly how I went in so I had little knowledge apart from the booklet my surgeon left me whilst I was asleep as I weren't able to see him at all after my surgery (I believe after you hand your money over then they're job with you is finished) so I was unable to ask questions. The booklet outlines all the stages of diets but not what I should specifically be buying for these diets. I have attempted to call my surgeon but it either rings out or I get answer machine. So as you can tell I weren't that educated on much regarding this surgery which is why I posted this post to ask for advice as I have really been relying on this website for answers to all my questions, I know I should've done my research before hand but as soon as the idea of the surgery came to mind I was flying out the next week on my way to get it done and I guess I was that excited that I really just forgot to prepare. I hope this clears it up for you kradtke5 as I don't mean to ask stupid questions but you guys are what I use as my nut so I really do rely on advice on here and prior posts.
  6. Oh and the doc also gave me additional advice, I was told that vitamin c helps with excess skin as you lose weight which i didn't know at all and since it was news to me I thought I'd give you all the heads up too incase you didn't know.
  7. Just a follow up, today I saw my doctor and he prescribed me all the vitamins I need I am also now drinking protein shakes although they make me heave and taste horrendous. I am still looking for the right protein product that I will be able to tolerate a bit better. Thank you all for the info I'm glad I asked the questions as I would've still been going without if I didn't I'm really grateful thank you.
  8. And also I was just wondering if vitamin water is ok to drink, it says it contains 15 grams of sugar so I'm not all that sure
  9. Thank you all for the advice, after having read your replies I've gone out and brought a load of protein shakes and surprise surprise I have a lot more energy so thank you all for the wake up call. I was stupid for not realising it was necessary
  10. Inner surfer girl, I feel fine when I'm in bed and I'm in bed most of the day except when I go for a stroll down the park and yes I definitely will phatfatgirl
  11. Blerdgirl, I've tried an egg but I throw up I haven't tried shakes I try to make my own beverage with fruits etc but not a protein shake as such. I realised that if its not something I used to have or have tried prior to my surgery I cannot keep it down and also I've been back in hospital due to dehydration I just don't have the energy to get up and make anything I feel faint whenever I do. I know I should be following guidelines that's why I've reached out to you guys to see if Vitamins and protein shakes are really necessary, I apologise if the post offended anyone but thank you for the advice
  12. Tee Murray, slow and steady wins the race is what I keep telling myself we will get there soon, eating good feeling healthy and looking better. Im open to you dropping me a message whenever you feel like you're losing the battle, I won't be able to do much but I can always over encouraging words to help keep you going ❤️
  13. Yes, I'm grateful I've found this website, it answers a lot of questions I don't even need to ring my doc no more. I hope we get there as stressless as possible ❤️
  14. I didn't expect for it to be this hard. I can't stand anything puréed or liquid I want real food. I didn't expect not to feel like I've recovered two weeks out, I feel no pain I've not felt pain since hospital and even at hospital I didn't get the shoulder pains or the swollen throat thing. It is an up and down journey for me sometimes I feel really depressed about it and sometimes I'm glad I've got it done and over with. Also obsessing about how much I've lost like the scales will be a problem and sometimes you'll stand on the scale and think "I've lost 1kg in two days how the hell was this worth it??" But it is because losing weight is better than losing no weight and also I think I was a bit harsh on my body regarding how much weight I lost, I wanted to lose 5kgs a day and it is clearly impossible so don't be too harsh on yourself be realistic and be patient. I also don't consume any source of protein and I don't know the effects this will have on me but I feel fine. Lastly, I didn't expect to fall out with family members over the tempting food they brought home, I thought hunger (including head hunger) would not exist after the surgery but sadly it did and I found myself feeling like I'm being tortured after family brought home a cake, but I remind myself that I'm doing this for me and in the long run it will be me laughing at them so don't sweat it.
  15. I was sleeved on September 25th, since the surgery I've lost 26lbs but I've never had this much regret in my life. I try to follow my surgeons guidelines and all but as soon as I start reading the handbook my mind goes all blank. I get frustrated because everything just seems so extreme for example I don't drink protein shakes or take in any type of protein at all, I have only yesterday started chewing on cashew nuts and the plan was to originally get protein from eggs but as soon as I consume eggs I throw it straight back up. This journey so far seems like the journey from hell and I often find myself wondering why I even did it but I'm trying to hold it together. I don't get the feeling of full yet and only sometimes get stomach pains due to hunger. I hope this gets easier for us all and I hope we get to where we all want to be because only we know the struggles we are going through.
