I am also scheduled for the 26th. I am on Medifast. I know what you mean. It is hard when you smell real food cooking. I am not prepairing food right now. My husband is making his own dinner. I am not sure I could stand the temptation. Hang in there though!!!! *o/* WE CAN DO IT!!!!!

Well, my financing is looking great!! Doc said I do not have to go to a seminar since I have already went to one and I have gone through this with my Mother. So I already know what the band is all about. So, I have my consultation on Wednesday the 16th. I can not believe this is going to actually happen! I have been reading all of the forums and looking at your before and after pics all week. You all look so beautiful!! Both in the BEFORE and the after pics. It is so inspiring to see how well you are all doing. I don't think there is anything that is going to stop me now. My financing was the only thing I was concerned about. Now that that has been resolved it is just a matter of taking all the right steps. My doc uses Medifast. It is kind of expensive but it works.

Well, that's the thing though...my doc wants to get me in before March 23rd because he said the hospital is giving a $2,500 discount that ends on that day. So he is trying to get things going pretty quick. He is a good doc. My Mom just had the band placed and she is doing GREAT! Are you a self pay or is your Insurance paying? I think part of the reason I am going to be able to move so quickly is because I am a self pay. I don't have to jump through any hoops. Hang in there Dave. Hope to chat again soon. Congratulations on your weight loss!!!! I know it is hard work even with the band. I can't wait to get mine. I am just starting out though. I started noticing symptoms when I hit 200 lbs. I started falling asleep at work, talking, giggling, crying and making hand motions in my sleep, snoring like crazy and scaring the heck out of my husband because I stopped breathing. Since my mother and brother both had sleep apnea he knew right away what was going on. We had a freind of the family pass away because he stopped breathing and never caught his breath again. SCARY STUFF! I hate those sleep studies too. You really should do one though just to make sure you are good to go. Hopefully your are and you can go to bed without looking like an alien. hee hee. How do you know you don't need your cpap anymore? My doc sleep doc told me I would probably need get down to around 140 before I wouldn't need mine anymore. How much have you lost? I can't wait to not have to ware that head gear to bed everynight.

:ranger: I have been doing a lot of research on the lap band. I will be attending a manditory seminar on the 23rd of January. The doctor I am going to use requires that all new patients go to a seminar even prior to a consult. Although I have already attended a LB seminar it was not through his office. So...I am looking forward to that. My Mother had her band placed on December 31st. She is one who if something can go wrong it will go wrong with. However, she is doing very well so far. So that is encourageing to me. I am like a mini me of my Mother. I have already begun to have some of the same ailments as her. Some due to weight, some due to age. We both have sleep apnea, joint pains....(the same joints mind you), and aching feet and backs. She has been suffering from hypertension for the past year or so and she also has diabetes. My goal is to head these off at the pass. I quit smoking a year ago...:clap2: yea for me!! So now I want to work hard on getting this weight off once and for all. I like this site and I have been reading quite a few of the forums. I think this is a great way to learn and support one another. I will keep you all updated on my progress. I do have a couple of questions but I won't bombard you with them right now.
