I've been reading about The importance of taking pro biotics. Does anyone know if having the sleeve surgery will take away a lot of the good bacteria colonies in your stomach? And do any of you take probiotics?

Question about Probiotics
heidikate replied to heidikate's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you both. I just wondered if the little stomach will be big enough to hold the large colonies good bacteria that is healthy to have. -
My husband recently had surgery (not weight loss surgery) and his bowels froze. He had to have a tube down his throat going to his stomach. It was horrible. Has anyone ever had this as a result of WLS?

One day I'm solid in my decision to get surgery, and then I'll read something about losing weight with For example Garcinia Cambrisia.. and I'll think.. Maybe I should get surgery.. And then I'll think But no matter what the sleeve is a tool that will make it all easier.. Could I get your feedback please? -

Richmond California Kaiser? anyone
heidikate replied to BairwithMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I started out wanting the band bc it can be temporary. Then found out that there are tons of complications. It can slip, many don't lose all there excess weight, there are more food restrictions and you have to have an access port.. Then I wanted the sleeve and still do. Less food restrictions later on. Better nutrient absorbability. Less complications if you follow the rules. -

The Kaiser in Fremont likes the Sleeve the best. They do Bi pass if needed and rarely if ever to Lap band -
Are you eventually able to eat anything?
heidikate posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was wondering, After 6 months to a year, do you get to where you can eat anything without sliming or feeling sick? And for those of you who have achieved goal, will you be partaking in any Holiday treats? A bite, a taste? Just trying to get an idea of how it will be after I'm sleeved. I understand that for the rest of my life I'm to eat Protein first, then veggies, then carbs.. -
Thanks! I was doubting whether to have the surgery.. But today I didn't do as well on my diet and cheated ( I've lost 8 pounds in 8 days) Surgery is what I need for sure! How are you doing Dream?
