3500 calorie pound scientifically debunked
PayItForward replied to jess9395's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's an interesting article. I use an exel spreadsheet to track and predicate my weight-loss. According to my spreadsheet, I should lose another 83 lbs by June 6th if I consume 1,000 calories per day. When I used the Body Weight Planner, it says that I will lose that weight by Sep 1st consuming the same amount of calories. Guess I'll find out which is more accurate. -

What do you mean by "low taste"? Just curious. -

I love the EAS Carb Control shakes. -
Do you PB or SLIME with sleeve like the lapband?
PayItForward replied to IrishGermanRN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The bypass procedure is much more invasive than the sleeve. I don't understand why you would be afraid of the sleeve but fine with the bypass. Fortunately, both types of surgery have a very low complication rate. -
I was told to get a min of 60 to 80 grams of Protein per day. I track to make sure I get them in but I don't really use the calorie calculation. I average around 700 calories a day. I'm three months post-op.

@@dansacha Try to relax. Deviled eggs are not going to hurt your stomach. Just forget about it and get back on track today. Best of luck!

Sleevers over 300lbs?

Who are you talking to? And what are you talking about? -
I didn't think that I had a hernia. I was sure that I didn't but the doctor insisted that most people at least have a small one. When they scoped my stomach, they were able to find a small one.
-
Have you looked into CareCredit?I haven't looked into that no!!! Thank you! they won't cover under any circumstances. Even if medically necessary. Stupid insurance. My insurance does not pay for weight-loss surgery but they do pay for hernia repair. Because I had both procedures done at the same time, my weight-loss surgery costs me much less than usual.
-
If you have a hiatial hernia, your insurance will probably cover that surgery. They did the hernia repair and sleeve at the same time for me. Only cost me around $6,000 which I paid for with care credit

It's my (birthday) and I'll cry if I want to...

I had my operation two days before my birthday this year. Definitely couldn't Celebrate but it was worth it. Happy Birthday! -
Watching others eat. Revulsion.
PayItForward replied to Emilie.Lancaster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem. I wasn't judging the people. It just physically made me feel sick to see that much food on a plate. I'm about 10 weeks post-op and it only bothers me a little bit now. -
Fort Worth/Dallas area?
PayItForward replied to seaniepoohbear's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I read a lot of bad reviews about follow up for them, did you have any issues? Really? I'm surprised because I have had zero problems. They send me a text the day before each appointment and they are always so nice. I'm about 2 1/2 months post op. Where did you see bad reviews for them? -

I live in Fort Worth. I went to Ultimate Bariatrics and used Dr Adam Smith for my gastric sleeve procedure. The team is really great. They will help you figure out which procedure is best for you. The web site is http://fortworthlapband.com/. -

I've heard that you will lose weight first where you last gained it. The weightloss just goes in reverse order. Don't know if it is entirely true but I've lost 60 lbs so far and it seems to be true in my case. -
Protein powder-do you really need it?
PayItForward replied to jhbeck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told the same thing. We are encouraged to get all of our protein from food. One shake a day if you need it to get in all your protein. -
Yea, they gave me one of those Patches and j actually just took it off. Maybe that's what is causing it! It took several days after I took off the patch for my vision to return to normal. Guess it has to work out of your system. Good luck!
-
Did they give you a patch behind your ear? It always make my vision blurry for awhile.

Stomach problems one year after surgery
PayItForward replied to Geoff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are many issues that could cause those problems. I would see a doctor soon if they don't clear up soon after you stop the carbonated drinks. -

Very nervous about 2 weeks liquid diet.
PayItForward replied to Mariggle's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The first few days are the worst. By day 3, it was much easier for me. Also, if you are tempted to eat/drink more than you are told, make sure it is healthy, such as an extra shake. -
